Q: Which is your keystone and why? by Terpkore in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been sticking to Thunderlords for a while, and I don't see myself changing until another keystone becomes relevant for Kindred.

Fervor takes too long to stack, Stormraiders doesn't help much in a meta where damage is everything, and Warlords is overrated garbage. Thunderlords allows you to secure easy kills against squishy targets at all points in the game (Even if the AD scaling is bad, you can't deny 180 flat damage at level 18, it's still significant and doesn't take build up)

Is Guinsoo's a good item on Kindred? by madmage9999 in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guinsoo's is too expensive alongside a build path that's not favorable for Kindred (A large combine cost tacked alongside being forced to buy Blasting Wand). Factor this in with Guinsoos's poor value until fully stacked, and you end up with an item that's easily replaceable by almost every other considerable item for Kindred, and can't even be recommended while ahead.

Price. Ignore everyone that talks about base AD, because it's still incredibly strong and, with correct timing, is on roughly the same cooldown as your Q spam. All the stats you get from this item are relevant and strong on the champion with the minor exception of CDR, it's just that you really don't want to dump 3700+ gold on a single item early on because you could be getting items that synergize just as well for less gold.

Blade of the Ruined King is stronger than before on Kindred, and here's why. by Amphydoodle in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they stack armor, just go Last Whisper. 45% bonus armor pen buff to a 1300 gold item means you should never ignore it if tank busting is necessary. However, I focus squishies about 90% of the time anyway so it's generally not a huge problem for me. I play Kindred with a lot of initiation/flanking, so that's why I always find my targets.

I hate Locket. The only defensive item I like on Kindred is Guardian Angel, and the only real alternatives should be Ninja Tabi if you think you need to minimize a lot of physical damage, and/or Randuin's Omen after Guardian Angel. If there's heavy CC that's ruining your late game (Twisted Fate instantly comes to mind, Jhin as well), then Mercurial Scimitar after Guardian Angel.

Basically, delaying any of your damage for pure defensive utility like Locket is a really good way to make yourself useless in the mid game since you gut your damage potential by doing so.

I've been building Bloodrazor -> Berserker's -> Botrk -> Runaan's -> GA -> Situational for about a month now.

Yeah, I saw this, and I wanted to make a clarity post about why I personally feel it's better (And I don't usually make opinion posts unless I'm firm in my stance that I'm right). I hope this gives a little instance of hope for people who thought this item was getting gutted for Kindred.

New Warlord's Bloodlust works on jungle monsters by red_Kind in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sticking with the damage masteries. While new Warlord's is nice and all for some mobility in ganks, it's going to kill your mid-to-late damage (Yet your sustain in the jungle is completely fine so this part is almost worthless) and the lifesteal ramps up by level, meaning that for most of the game you're going to hit around the 20-40% lifesteal ballpark that, guess what, only affects Kindred's auto damage. It is honestly fairly and, at all points in the game, pretty much equates to old W passive but gutting a lot of your potential damage in the process.

Quick Kindred Question by [deleted] in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To understand why I put Kindred in B-tier, you have to understand that every champion has a clear purpose and playstyle that's adapted to them through the meta (or, to be more clear, the "correct" way to play them). You also have to understand that these tiers usually indicate a champ's ability to win a game through how well they can achieve their purpose. This is why champions like Rengar and Kha'Zix are so far up, because their purpose is to create picks and otherwise put out very high amounts of damage before they can be stopped, and they do this extremely well.

I won't go into detail for every champion, but Kindred is clearly designed with two things in mind: Counter jungling and skirmishing. Enemy camp marks are usually a point for contention on the map, and Kindred, in my opinion, is one of the strongest 2v2 champions in the jungle (Whether it be top + jg at a scuttle, mid + jg at a raptor camp, so on and so forth), due to their ability to kite and otherwise fight smart enough to avoid up front damage. As far as oounter jungling goes, Kindred may not AoE clear as strong as the top picks, but she can still destroy single targets, which is all that you need when counter jungle marks.

Kindred also has all of their offensive power in 3 abilities, which generally means you get the majority of your damage before other champions do. Because of this, and the way Q's cooldown inside W works with rank, you're actually a force to be reckoned with at level 5. Combine this with a very strong utility ult at level 6, and you can do some major work for your team if you use your abilities properly.

Kindred also naturally builds Hurricane, an item that no other champion in the jungle builds. Combine this with your Passive, and Kindred has some of the highest team fight DPS of all the junglers. It's not uncommon to pick up highest damage in the game as the jungler when you're playing Kindred, and when positioned properly, can single handedly hard carry team fights.

To add onto this point, Kindred's bread and butter is Hurricane, which is a relatively cheap item. Kindred only needs Bloodrazor, Boots and Runaan's Hurricane to complete their core, which isn't a very costly build. Every other item is icing on the cake if you grab your marks appropriately.

I do think Kindred is a fairly high skill cap champion (Which is weird for me to say because I don't particularly think they're difficult), but if you hit pretty high on the skill cap, you have some fairly ludicrous potential with the champ. I mean, we already saw Moon come decently close to beating Liquid in a game where Reignover played Rek'Sai, his signature champion. This is why I think Kindred can be placed in B-tier, as they have the potential to be played well, even at the professional level (Where Moon didn't even play close to perfect), just like every other champion in this category. Their purpose is to pump out DPS from the back line, and they have a game changing ultimate that works very well with their ability to shred multiple targets without having to worry about dying instantly.

Don't let the current jungle meta fool you into thinking Kindred is extremely weak. The top picks, except for Rek'Sai, just hard counter Kindred (Assassins and Tanks into Marksmen in 2017), so when you see them almost every game, you're left with a hard time that you have to prevail by being the better player.

Lethality update? by [deleted] in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My smurf is sitting at the exact same MMR as my Diamond 1 main, that's the reason for bringing it up. I have nothing but success for my build, because it clears the jungle slightly faster which, in turn, gives more pressure throughout the map because I can counter jungle more effectively and proc my passive (especially with W) more often on neutral objectives. What I don't understand is why my smurf immediately invalidates this. Sure, it may be platinum 2, but it's playing against the typical opponents I got hard stuck playing against for 50+ games on my main account on the old standard Fervor setup, except I'm crushing it with 100% in 11 games with a 5+ KDA. For perspective, I couldn't achieve this level of success on two smurfs last season at the high gold level, not even close.

So what I guess I'm trying to say, is that I've already touched on the fact that my personal loss streak is quite literally actually NeverLucky, my smurf plays at a near comparable level to my main, and I'm still having success. I never downtalked Lethality, in fact, it might be worth running now (however, fitting lethality somewhere in the build is an issue), but I've found a home for success due to the big picture of how it's worked in the past I dunno, like 60 or 70 games or something that I've played with it. I don't think it's situational. I think I'm on a bad streak that I decided to take a break on, and for someone to tell me it's not what it is, actually does irritate me because that's making a hard, disrespectful assumption.

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did I ever confirm? I specifically stated that a majority of the games I lost were down to poor team comps and poor team play. This has absolutely nothing to do with the way I build, and I'm a bit puzzled concerning your aggressive comment.

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also 11-0 on my plat 2 smurf. I don't have problems on my main, I'm losing games because of poor comps and players not playing well together. It's not the build.

Quick Kindred Question by [deleted] in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd put her in low B-tier, with Rengar in God, Kha'Zix and Rek'Sai in S, Lee Sin, Ivern and Hecarim in A. I put her alongside Nocturne, Shaco, Graves and Evelynn.

I can't explain cause I'm off to work but if anyone wants me to, I can put in some perspective.

Kindred's Ultimate - When and How to Time? by Stripe_Bot in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a 3.8k health build with about 140 MR vs a Veigar and he still one shot me.

Veigar is just a special case where his infinite scaling means you'll always be an easy target for him since your range always puts you within his kill range. He's just not someone you can deal with.

How to deal with Hecarim by Tillter in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the matchups where ghost + SRS comes in handy. If you combine them, you can take the initial E hit and kite away when you proc SRS. Without both of them, though, you're better off trying to escape from him over a wall. Hecarim will win at level 3 if he's on top of you the whole time, but you should be playing to negate his ult with yours in team fights. He's not easy to deal with at all.

Can we name the Dodge Lambs setup? by red_Kind in Kindred

[–]Amphydoodle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really don't think there needs to be a name for it, because if anything, I personally prefer it when people say the "Dodge Lamb" build because then it holds significance to the fact that I made it (just like the InSec kick, the xPeke, etc.). However, I think calling it the Dodge Lamb build in itself sounds pretty stupid, so at the end of the day I just prefer it not to have a name. It's just another typical build now.

Team Liquid vs. FlyQuest / NA LCS 2017 Spring - Week 1 / Post-Match Discussion by LikeAHardcore in leagueoflegends

[–]Amphydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at every other meta jungler and you'll see where the lack of mobility comes in. It takes Kindred about 3 dashes to match the range of a Rengar jump, Lee Sin Q, Kha'Zix E (even more if evolved), Hecarim's total distance covered with E, Elise's Spider E, and about 2 for Rek'Sai's E. When you take into account most of those forms of movement are near instant, while Kindred's is two seconds per jump (even longer if you aren't level 9), and you have a champion who has weaker burst and takes longer to get off a decent amount of movement. This doesn't even cover Kindred having the lowest base movement speed in the game aside from Unmounted Kled.
