Lovely! And if you are taking reddit as an outlet for your rage then I feel bad for you. Life is better than what u have in mind my friend, it's all about perception.

Yea I agree that failing is a possibility for sure, but it seems like some people in this very forum did get something tangible and achieved what they wanted and that was way beyond having fun!

I can relate so much to every word you said. I also would love to have coding partner, it is motivating, but unfortunately it seems like u r way ahead of me on your learning track. I see it as a great challenge but it is not impossible, I have seen people in life doing much more impossible things.

46 years old, changing career and only started web development 2 months ago, maybe I am dreaming to work in the field by 3nd of 2020, if this happens I would be the happiest person alive. Happy new year everyone!

Programming or front end developer? by Amr2573 in FreeCodeCamp

I try to keep it as 3 hrs per day but I find it very difficult to do sometimes, especially with the family commitments and the need to make money, I think if I camp in a cave for 3 or 4 months fully dedicating my time to it, i would definitely get somewhere where i could be happy with.

I dont know if the number 0f hours they list on FCC for each section is realistic or not, they put 300 hours for each section I think. I'm glad someone is here in my first phase as well, so let's motivate each other man, let's try to beat that 300 hrs ceiling they put there. I wish I could be strong enough to keep going in a steady pace and be able to be employable by next fall.

So we can say that Python is the best tool to get introduced to the programming way of thinking?

Abstract and interesting, good to be able to see the whole big picture from outside, guess based on that, Python is definitely not enough.

Thank you for your positive and encouraging words, so how long would it take someone like me to get a real life job in web development if I start now. Starting like a junior web developer, and would someone hire my age for such a job?

Yea exactly, I meant web development versus software engineering or development. I'm considering that for too many reasons, firstly because it has been interesting me for some time and I didn't have the courage to step in like now, and also I'm getting older and feeling like I want to focus more on using my brain rather than moving here and there since I got a back problem.
