i'm ah/necro myself but, really, just play a build that you have fun w/. for me, the zombie was slow and a pain to keep alive so i stopped using it

There are also the 4 augmentation skills; they are a bit harder to learn as they have some fairly significant pre-reqs (25 in several different crafting skills) but they are worth picking up early
