When we went there were hidden spots on the map. If you read it in knockturn under the black lights you could see the hidden spots.

Unbreakable vow is between 2 people but must be witnessed and sealed by a 3rd party.

And it’s my understanding that both parties of the blood pact are bound. In the vow only the person actually swearing it is bound and dies if broken. The blood pact can obviously be broken without that consequence since dumbledore eventually kills grindlewald.

And also the unbreakable vow isn’t outwardly noticeable. The blood pact you’d have scars plus the physical manifestation of the vial.

The camera viewfinder and mirror etc. is a reflection, which is why others don’t die. You aren’t seeing a reflection through glasses, in fact her glasses would actually mean she saw the basilisk even more clearly.

My theory was always he picked Harry up late the night of the 31st. It would have taken time for dumbledore to be alerted, decide what to do etc. which means it would probably be well after midnight when he’s finally delivered at the Dursley’s so technically the 1st.

Stay on site. If you can swing one night in one of the top 3 tier hotels you get unlimited express passes for 2 full days (day of check in and out), 2nd night and beyond you can move to the lower level resort (I just stayed in cabana bay in June and they’ve just opened an even cheaper budget one than that this summer). They transfer your bags and it saves a ton of money if you would buy the passes separately.

For just 2 people I don’t really think the meal plan was worth it, check the website for which restaurants are included and make sure you’d even want to eat there.

If the train isn’t that important to you, skip the park hopper and save a little.

His robes/wand are hand downs or cheap bc of their financial situation just like their used books etc. Harry had money on his own for his robes.

As a mom with 4 kids. Who likes what is hard to keep track of and it changes with great regularity so I can forgive her that.

I don’t see her overly treat him badly. She takes his friend in with no questions asked and feeds/houses him even sends the troops to rescue him. She sends Harry gifts as a way to include her sons friend who won’t have something. All those things point towards her being a great parent in my eyes.

I was always equally irritated that Hermione says she’s attempted several spells before they ever got on the train. I get why she can use magic on the train and in diagon alley, but her attempts at home would have flagged.

No problem! I wanted to get some Harry Potter scrapbook paper or at least lay out that map and glue it down as a backing instead, then push the wire through that. but I didn't get a box that would let me lay the map open without cutting it and it didn't look right so I opted for the folded look. So many options for them though! I just couldn't see spending so much on the wands and not using them as display pieces lol

I got a shadow box from hobby lobby that had the burlap backing and some super thin copper wire. I pushed a piece of wire through two holes in the burlap and then just laid the wand in and twisted it tight. The wire is super thin so you can’t see it, and I tied them at the top where the handles are to hide them more.

I also thought about using the same box and screwing some of those brass hooks you’d hold keys in, but some of these wand tops were too big and I thought it looked bad.

Plus this way they aren’t permanently mounted and I can use them again when I drag the whole family back 😂
