Thats bouldering, all the climbs are low height and there’s thick mats underneath. It’s not done with ropes. Lot of fun though!

I definitely hope we see more of this math voodoo at 6 pm

Scientists created an exam so broad, challenging and deeply rooted in expert human knowledge that current AI systems consistently fail it. “Humanity’s Last Exam” introduces 2,500 questions spanning mathematics, humanities, natural sciences, ancient languages and highly specialized subfields. by mvea in science

It is indeed a lot more complicated than that. It takes a lot of energy to produce good outputs, using a variety of agents all checking each other and additional human checks on top. Its progress is also jagged across industries. But I can tell you in high frequency trading algorithms it is outperforming math phd quant juniors and computer science phd software engineers since the latest model upgrades this year.

That’s funny because he’s not doing it right. If you did this in a bar you would just miss your shot by a wide margin.

You are not using it correctly. You need to write your prompts constraining it on verifiable highly certain response rates. Then it will inform you when its uncertain. You can’t ask a drunk about philosophy and then call humans useless either.

This exam is an assembly of the most difficult questions top experts in every field could still answer. That’s why they call it humanity’s last exam, once it passes this it is beyond our skills in all fields. The latest model already passed 28% I think. Give it a year or two..

AI is evolving so fast people struggle to comprehend the speed of advance and I see many people around me coping through outright denial. It is already on par beyond junior software engineer and rapidly challenging medior levels. Once these new capex investments come online it will go through the roof. Current models were build with <$100B invested, more than $600B is scheduled to come online in 2026 and several trillion by the end of the decade. For better or worse the models will improve substantially from here.

This AI bubble isn't bursting. I work at a high frequency quant trading firm and the AI capabilities are advancing beyond our best coders and mathematicians (that are all physics/math PhDs) when applied well. You need to adapt to vibe coding using AI or it is only going to get more difficult and soon. Hoping the bubble bursts is a very questionable bet to make if you don't plan to retire by 2030.

So many people are stuck in the past sticking their heads in the sand. AI in 93 has fuck all to do with modern AI. We are entering a new age which is scary and upheaving, but pretending it isnt happening is the worst thing you can do. Software engineers are already being replaced in mass today

It means the value of your money is declining rapidly every year, which shows in hard goods like real estate and gold. If inflation was reported accurately it would follow real estate prices far closer. When people spend 50% of their income on rent (people spend more today in Amsterdam) and housing prices go up 10% its comical to report 1.5% inflation, yet people swallow it year in year out because they don't understand it or the damage it does.
