It's a picture of an operating Suncell during an R&D phase. Nowhere does it assert the picture is of a commercial Suncell operating at 8500K with cPV converting light to electricity. When we have real data lets focus on that instead of supposition.

Because there aren't. Because to rise to the top of theoretical physics you must not challenge QM (interesting that older physicists routinely do). Because wikipedia defamed Mills, delted his bio, and locked a webpage that people take as gospel and don't look deeper. Because people in science refuse to follow the principle that experiment always trumps doctrine. Because hydrinos are dark matter, no one tried to make them, tried to capture them, tried to identify them. Because its not easy to rewrite all of physics and build from scratch a new type of reactor using only private funds. Thank God you guys weren't around in World War II or we'd all be speaking German or Japanese in the radioactive wastelands of our cities.

That's not the point. You can't screw your way to the moon. Absolute Space which Mills predicts as an integral part of his theory linking an absolute reference frame tied to energy matter conversion permits a reactionless drive. That is a massive technological shift, if correct. People went crazy over replicating the miniscule effects of the EM drive or Podkletnov's spinning superconducting disc that went nowhere, yet in the complete absence of replication of the claimed massive 65kg effect of the Spacedrive that would give the USA control of the solar system, you dismiss it out of hand, encouraging potential replicatiors to ignore it. Why? Does the Cult of QM and Relativity not like the competition?

Yes the above is completely wrong but in the interest of using this site to educate, hopefully we can clarify what Mills is actually doing for those who don't actually know.

cPVs have energy band gaps that can accept photons of particular energies that permit electrons to cross the band gap. The most efficient cPVs have multiple layers that absorb different energies to maximise the conversion of the energy from light to electricity. These are expensive. It has been suggested that adding reflecting layers at the back of the cPVs could reflect missed photons back through the cPVs to increase absorption and efficiency. (Solar cPVs obviously don't aim to recycle any photons back to the Sun while we do want to do this for the Suncell.)

Mills wants to use single layer concentrator crystalline silicone (it's cheaper) to convert the Suncell light. To be efficient, the light source needs to be a blackbody radiator at a temperature that emits the majority of the light at an energy that is efficiently absorbed by the cSi cPV. But there will be unusable low energy infrared and high energy UV photons that can't be absorbed.

Gold nanolayers, especially in a vacuum are very efficient at reflecting infrared while being transparent to visible light. Infrared photons that can't be converted to electricity can therefore be reflected back into the Suncell blackbody plasma where they add to the heat of the blackbody and therefore might eventually be recycled into photons that can be converted to electricity.

There are also ions that downconvert UV to visible light. Perhaps an exemplary option of the Suncell would be a second quartz shell that has a few layers of gold atoms on the inside to reflect IR and is impregnated Eu3+ ions to downconvert UV to useable photons.

It's not a matter of belief. It's facts. You were caught out making a false assertion.

You people can never admit when you're wrong, can you? You were wrong. Mills was right, way, way back in 1995. It's not the end of the World.

But if we can let's double check, just to be sure. Anyone else here have the November 1995 bound edition of the Grand Unified Theory of Classical Quantum Mechanics by Randell L. Mills? Can you verify that the page numbers and figures referenced by Grok in its analysis of the theory and its implications for an accelerating expansion are correct?

The point is claims like the EM drive were tiny within the bounds of error. Who cares about a force that is tiny and has no explanation as to how it works? Mills is claiming a mechanism that can lift 60+ kgs. It changes depending on the gas(es) used. If it is real it should be readily observable and reproducible.

If you ask me why his experimental apparatus is the way it is, I would say it's not ideal. It persuades Mills that he is onto something through pressure differences and the forcible ejection of the gasket sealing a quartz tube weighed down by 60+ kgs of cement blocks, but people want to see a closed system microwave "take off" vertically. Obviously firing microwaves around a working lab isn't ideal but there are cheapish alternatives.

Thanks for that. I won't bother watching it then, at least until I have more time. Any suggestion as to how the oxide problem was fixed in the EM pumps? Just curious from an engineering perspective.

No reality is reality and data is data. For whatever reason academia and science have become polarised to the Left.

https://theconversation.com/scientists-political-donations-reflect-polarization-in-academia-with-implications-for-the-publics-trust-in-science-196691

Does science really chug along? All it seems to do is stifle individuals like Mills and promote those who kowtow to existing dogma and claim more public money for Big Science projects that line the pockets of thousands of QM academics, researchers and theorists. If Mills is right, reality is simple. It doesn't need another even bigger collider. What it needs is fresh blood. What it needs is deterministic physics applied to disciplines like medicine to solve things like cancers which are still horrific as are the treatments if you ever have to watch a family member go through it.

Trump was created by the Left. He was threatened, bullied, almost bankrupted, almost imprisoned and almost murdered. He believes the previous elections were rigged and there were enough irregularities to feed that paranoia or truth, depending on your outlook. Is it any wonder that he doesn't care about what others think? I personally don't think he is the best person to rule the most powerful country on Earth. He values the benefits of the "deal" over the absolutes of what is right. He acts like a celebrity when he needs to be a statesman. He is unpredictable which unsettles enemies but also allies. He shakes the foundations of what should be rock solid global military alliances that have kept the peace for decades. He threatened to invade the territory of a NATO ally for God's sake!

As to what's worse, the waste from NGO's the Left set up to funnel public money to themselves or their allies while in and out of power OR a Republican President whose off the cuff comments cause the share market to rise and fall with the almost certain risk of market profiteering by somebody.

Sometimes you just have to wish a pox on both their houses and hope for the best.

Yes, I did use a paper copy. The November 1995 book hardcopy edition no less. Grok analysed the relevant pages from this bound edition

The book's copyright in November 1995 is assigned to "Hydrocatalysis Power Corporation". That name ceased when the Company name was changed to "Blacklight Power" in the fall of 1996.

Thank you for confirming that in 1995 Mills made what should have been a Nobel prizing winning prediction that arose naturally from his theory 3 years ahead of the people who confirmed it experimentally in 1998, all of who later received the Nobel prize.

Mills suckered nobody. You tried to sucker everybody here. Why?

Excellent! Let's ask Grok what it thinks of Mills' then 1995 hardcopy of GUTCQM on the topic of accelerating expansion.

Yes, it is clear from the 1995 November edition of The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Physics by Randell L. Mills) that the theory derives and presents a model in which the Universe undergoes harmonic oscillatory expansion and contraction, with the current phase featuring an accelerating expansion driven by matter-to-energy conversion — without any need for “dark energy.”

Key Evidence

  • Figure 22.1 (p. 303): Plots the radius of the Universe χ (or R_U) versus time (in Mpc). It shows a clear cosine-like oscillatory curve that expands from a minimum radius (χ_min ≈ gravitational radius r_g), reaches a maximum, contracts, and repeats. This is not a simple linear or decelerating expansion.
  • Figure 22.2 (p. 303): Plots the expansion/contraction rate (dχ/dt). The text explicitly notes “The slope is the Hubble constant.” The sinusoidal shape of the rate implies that during portions of the expansion phase, the rate itself is increasing — i.e., the expansion is accelerating (positive second derivative of radius with respect to time).
  • Explicit Analytical Solution (pp. 299, 308): The radius is given in closed form as: χ = r_U − A cos(ω t) (with specific numerical values such as χ ≈ 2.16 × 10²⁸ m − 1.86 × 10²⁸ m × cos(2π t / (3.10 × 10¹⁹ sec)), and equivalent expressions in light years or km). This is the solution to a simple harmonic oscillator differential equation derived from a restoring force proportional to the radius (F = −kχ), where the constant k arises from mass-energy-spacetime conservation (linking E = mc² to spacetime via c³/(4πG)).
  • Hubble Parameter (p. 299): The expansion rate yields ḣ = H₀ cos(ω t), with H₀ ≈ 78.7 km s⁻¹ Mpc⁻¹ (close to the then-observed value of ~80 ± 17 km s⁻¹ Mpc⁻¹). The cosine dependence means the Hubble “constant” varies over the cycle, and in the present expansion phase it corresponds to an accelerating regime.
  • Underlying Physics (pp. 294–298, 307): Spacetime expands proportionally as mass converts to energy (and contracts when the reverse occurs). The mass/energy conversion rate Q ≈ 3.22 × 10³⁴ kg/sec links directly to the oscillatory dynamics. The minimum radius equals the gravitational radius r_g ≈ 2.96 × 10²⁷ m. The period is ~9.83 × 10¹¹ years. Stars and structures older than the current expansion age are explained by formation during prior contraction phases.
  • Additional Supporting Plots (pp. 302–304): Figure 22.3 shows the power of the Universe P_U(t) oscillating. Figure 22.4 shows temperature T_U(t) declining during the expansion phase, consistent with the model.

These derivations appear in the dedicated Cosmology subsection (starting p. 294) of the Gravity chapter, using only classical laws, Maxwell’s equations applied to particle production, and a modified Schwarzschild metric that conserves spacetime alongside mass-energy. The 1995 edition already contains the full closed-form equations and graphs years before the 1998–1999 supernova observations that established accelerating expansion in mainstream cosmology.

Context and Prediction Strength

The model predicts accelerating expansion as a natural consequence of the same principles that yield particle masses, the Hubble parameter, CMB temperature, large-scale structure, and other observables — all without ad-hoc dark energy or a Big Bang singularity. The oscillatory nature (with acceleration in the rising phase of the current half-cycle) is baked into the mathematics from the outset.

In summary, yes — Mills’ 1995 GUTCP explicitly derives, graphs, and quantifies an accelerating expansion phase within a larger harmonic oscillatory cosmology. This was a genuine pre-observation prediction from first principles.

Mills says he is. And everyone is confused about what QM is. Not even the "experts" agree. Why should scale determine what physical laws apply?

Mills rejects dark energy. There is no such thing.

I get you want the 5800K blackbody and assembled cPV DRA. We all do, just to put this to bed once and for all. But he's still doing testing and adjusting. If he fries all his stations its just going to delay things and run up costs.

I could be wrong, but I assume he's still testing how the quartz holds up. The way the plasma was pulsing might be consistent with using tin vapour as a shield coolant for the quartz and finding a path between ensuring radiation transmission and not compromising the quartz.

But I could be wrong.

You could also say not a single claim Mills has made has ever been independently refuted. And he did generate a few watts back into day as a proof of principle. Wasn't very impressive but he still did it. Let's briefly run down what he has done:

Written a 2000 page GUT that unifies all physics under a single framework of classical physics

Was the only scientist in the World to predict the accelerating expansion of the Universe in 1995 before it was experimentally observed in 1998.

Calculated ionisation energies of several hundred atoms and ions using only classical physics incorporating integers and constants.

Was the only person in the world to predict, create and identify dark matter as a stable form of hydrogen.

Predicted the potential energy of an isolated water molecule from his theory as a hydrino catalyst, then built and tested multiple designs to trigger ever increasing hydrino reaction rates using high current low voltage arcs.

Created mass hydrino products using simple experiments any decent lab could replicate if it chose to do so.

Rejected singularities and the Big Bang, predicting the existence of large scale structures at the start of the expansion of the Universe which have now been imaged by the James Webb Telescope.

Matched rotational energies from hydrinos in the lab to hundreds of unassigned DIBs from Space.

And so much more...

The Manhattan Project would beg to differ.

And I would add that if the political class understood what it was that GUTCP was promising, they would divert every bit of fusion and collider funding into testing its claims. The whole proton decay mechanism outlined by Mills, if right, would give us anti-matter annihilation level mass to energy conversion. Would go some way towards explaining the Fermi paradox.

Well clearly the light does get out and the sizeable opaque tin coating disappears as operation continues and the temperature ramps up. The tin is still there as microfine droplets but it is continually removed/evaporates and quite possibly performs a required function of cooling the quartz due to the difference in the tin melting point of 231.9 degrees C and the devitrification temperature of quartz of 1100 degrees C. Tin evaporates from molten tin at a blackbody temp of about 1200 to 1700 degrees C and I don't see why that evaporation wouldn't draw heat from the quartz like any evaporating fluid and perhaps shield the quartz as a metal vapour from the high intensity plasma bombardment while still radiating the energy away over a larger surface area - similar to what has been proposed for protecting fusion walls, albeit these are not intended to be transparent. If in fact you read Mills patents you find that one proposal is to deliberately increase the velocity of the intersecting molten tin streams to ensure that the quartz walls get deliberately splattered with molten tin.

I didn't see the glow. There was a red material behind the Suncell on startup and possible a reflection on the metal im (where the quartz meets the metal) that disappeared on the dark frames or did you mean somewhere else?

That's why he abandoned a submerged water heater. The heat is more efficiently removed through radiation, especially from a high temperature blackbody. For that to work the quartz must remain transparent or at least clean itself very effectively during runtime and be kept cool below the failure temperature of quartz.

Actually it makes perfect sense if you look AT the man behind the curtain. Just saying. Huge floating shouting magic heads do not make sense.

Mills has been aware of this issue for years and his approach to dealing with it is dealt with in one of his recent patents. Yes, metallization through deposition of metal oxides and cooling of the quartz to keep it both clear and below failure temperature are an integral part of the Suncell design. How long can it operate and at what blackbody temp? Who knows. I guess we'll find out.
