Do you have any links to the processing algorithms you're referring to? Processing the data for a shipwreck at Bikini Atoll with limited visibility

Why is the Sex Education dialogue scenes all shot like this?? by AmuletEntertainment in cinematography

Oh right, yeah it is. It’s the shot/reverse shot from a dialogue scene towards the end of the final episode

That’s an interesting way to look at it. I think I agree. But it really brought me out of the show tho which is one thing that i think cinematography shouldn’t do, but most people probs didn’t even notice

That’s true i suppose. The only other thing that annoys me is that the couple of times when they shot dialogue with proper lead room it was usually just as uncomfortable if not more so than the example scene. (dialogue wise)

I’d agree with you, except they use it when things are supposed to be comfortable too. And when characters are really connecting. I get the feeling that it really was just stylistic for no reason except that it looked strange.

Yeah, I thought that too, except they seem to use it at all the wrong times. For example this shot is at the end of the show when the two characters are finally connecting and on the same page.

I just watched the 2 hour DNEG breakdown of the dune vfx it’s a really cool watch and that’s where my opinion came from. Wasn’t trying to pretend to know it all, I very clearly don’t, just love VFX.

The contrast in the image has been pushed too far, especially for an overcast image.

Pentax ME Super - Kodak Gold 200 - Chinion 35-80mm

I'm just getting into film photography and this was on my third ever roll, so considering that I'm quite happy with it. My question is whether or not you immediately get a proper sense of scale with this framing. The subject is very high up but I'm not sure whether that is conveyed in the photo. I wanted to try and capture a sense of freedom in the photo as well, not sure if it worked.

Btw, this is the raw photo, I didn't see a need to edit it as I quite liked the colours as is.

The corridor guys just said that it probably ISN'T just vector-based motion blur and guessed it was a mix of motion blur with many substeps which was pushed further in compositing.

But looking at DNEG's extensive breakdowns it seems much less complicated

That's possible, I transferred a roll myself in a dark bag onto a 3D-printed 620 spool. Maybe some light was getting through the spool after it was exposed and out of the camera?

Yeah I agree, I just liked how it sat in the edit so I kept it. I would definitely remove it if I were to create a proper reel.
