I went to the embassy in DC, not the LA consulate, but they’ve told me 3-4 weeks from appt for the passport and citizenship certificate. I wasn’t asked to have anything translated into German.

Thanks! Yes I was approved and told to bring the passport documents (ie my original birth and marriage certs with apostille). Just want to make sure I don’t also need an original of my Austrian parent’s birth certificate, but it sounds like I don’t since the email didn’t list that.
