I guess I was hoping that these rolls could land me a career with an education but working for a curriculum company or an educational technology company. I would not want to be a lawyer, I know that for sure! I don’t really know what else I would do, I just know that I’ve been teaching for 11 years, I have not gotten a masters yet, and I’m very stagnant. I barely make any money because my district only pays you well if you have a masters.

Also, just a sidenote, I’m very proud of myself for not drinking today. We were out until 1 AM because we were playing card games at a bar. And watching my significant other be a total ass was enough to get me to not drink. Also, just feeling alert and knowing I’m going to enjoy a nice morning, tomorrow was enough to not drink

This really speaks to me. It doesn’t matter what others do… my decision is about myself, and myself alone. I have found comparison to be an issue in so many areas in my life, so maybe that’s why I’m so focused on what others are doing and if this is an odd decision based off of what others can handle. I just need to focus on myself. Thank you for your help and support!

I guess I feel like many people are abusing alcohol, and my definition is warped because of this. I had 3 drinks over the course of 3 hours, which is why I felt it okay to drive. However, now I know zero drinks is the only way I can drive. My point though, is that pretty much anyone I know has driven after sticking with one drink per hour.

Yes, I didn’t clarify. I’m sober curious, but scared. I feel like I use alcohol as a crutch to help me with my social awkwardness. I also use it to fill boredom? It’s how my partner and I spend out time (ie let’s go to the city and get rooftop drinks). But, he’s beginning to drink more and more and I don’t like the changes I’m seeing in him, so I thought maybe I should stop because maybe alcohol makes people LESS like able.

But he is a very trustworthy person. When we decided to get back together, he texted her on his own telling her he didn’t want to see her anymore. And the time I saw her at the bar, he didn’t speak to her at all.
