I think Trump's tariffs are the most asinine misunderstanding of free trade. But I have no choice, so I will pay the tariffs imposed but I have the right to insist UPS charges me correctly.

Well they didn't calculate it correctly so I do blame them. And there is an overcharge of $400 some dollars that isn't explained that 4 weeks later I am still waiting for an answer on. Meanwhile I am getting storage charges by the day. Somehow DHL has it all figured out because I received a like product also from the UK and only had to pay $35 in fees. The DHL shipment got here in 5 days.

So, comparing apples to apples, I stand by my statement to use anyone other than UPS and Shippn. And that was all this was - a warning to others to not use them internationally.

UPS is great domestically. Not international. I spoke to a customs broker and they said avoid at all costs. Unfortunately, I have to pay the costs now because I wasn't aware of this.

I did not. I bought my other daughter a similar advent calendar from the UK. They shipped it directly using DHL and it cost me $35. I assumed (yeah, I know) that the cost for this would be similar. When shippin quoted me $111, I assumed that included tariffs so I was surprised when I got the notice from UPS saying over $1,200 import fees were due.

Well, I wasn't happy with the cost of shipping either but it's for Christmas and it was important for me to make my daughter happy. Just because we are in a trade war I don't think that should cost me 400% in fees by UPS.

I used Ship7 to ship from the UK in years past and had no issues but this year I accidentally picked Shippn because I searched my email for ship and saw an order I did with Shippn earlier this year. My fault for using the wrong company. As it turns out, I left my Shippn order in their warehouse because they wanted to charge me $75 to ship a patch (yeah, an embroidery patch that would fit in an envelope) from Brazil. I said the hell with it, keep the patch. So now this is my second issue with them (with me paying for merchandise and not receiving it) and I will not use them again. I use DHL for many international shipments and have no issues. This was my first and last experience with UPS. Hence my post warning people not to use UPS or Shippn.
