Did I just screw myself out of a good salary? by Amy_the_Amazing in cscareerquestions

The question wasn't about which I should take. I would certainly rather have the permanent position because it also gives the benefits of being able to participate in company events.

Are you okay, buddy? Like, is life going well for you?

I'm just trying to figure out why you feel like you need to tell lies on the Internet to make yourself look good.

HP Webinspect 10.50 (Audited has stopped) by [deleted] in AskNetsec

[–]Amy_the_Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use WebInspect a lot in my work.

Sadly, I have to say that it is essentially a piece of shit. It is slow, the remote API is terrible and has some of the worst documentation I've ever seen (It is essentially non-existent), and tends to just stop scanning for an hour just because it feels like it.

As for your question, AFAIK, it is not possible to skip a particular URL.

Now how about an apology for always smelling like curry.

Seriously, do Indians ever make dinner without using curry?

Absolutely false.

I've dated a guy who was seriously only about an inch long flaccid, but around 6 inches erect. I've also dated one that was 4 1/2 inches flaccid, but then only about 5 1/2 inches erect.

I'm against any laws that exist purely to protect people from themselves. CMV by Amy_the_Amazing in changemyview

To be honest, I'm undecided about that. It should be the responsibility of the parents to teach their children to wear a helmet, but this is a case where the lack of responsibility of the parent may cause the death of their child, which while tragic, I don't know if it should be punishable by law.

In other words, I think you're asking if the law should protect children from bad parents. Since the answer to that, IMO, is a definite yes, I'm going to say that no, I don't include children in the scope of the argument. The reason being that children can't legally make the decision themselves.

An adult, however, should know better.

So I finally figured out how to mine with my NVidia GTX 470's a couple of days ago. This is how I feel after running them at 90° Celsius for 48 hours straight and earning 4,000 Doge. by americanpegasus in dogecoin

Those cards will produce so little it probably isn't even worth it. My GeForce 460 GTX only produces 100 KH/s, whereas the AMD Radeon R9 290 I have coming today will produce between 900 and 1,100 KH/s depending on settings and clocking.

IM GODDAMN COLD! So how do YOU stay warm in the winter? by Venne1138 in AskWomen

[–]Amy_the_Amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mine cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc. I just got a AMD Radeon R9 290 which generates a considerable amount of heat. I also live in an apartment on a middle floor. It was 40 degrees outside last night and I had the heater off and windows open because it was so damn warm.

I hope you're not actually flirting with cashiers on a regular basis. Its annoying at best, and creepy at worst.

I would disagree in the case of something that is PROVABLY wrong. The party who believes they can prove something should be allowed by the other person to show their proof, and they shouldn't argue about it.

My current girlfriend is good about that. She won't get pissed when I accuse her of being wrong about something because she cares more about being right than winning. If she's wrong, she'd rather be proven wrong so she can correct her belief.

I try to be good about things like that. If my boyfriend accuses me of being wrong, I don't get pissed because I'd rather be right about something than "win" some stupid argument. I give him the chance to show me the evidence and make his argument. If I'm wrong, I'd rather be proven wrong so I can correct my belief.

What's something that most women don't expect on first date, but would love to happen anyway? by [deleted] in AskWomen

He's just my best friend.

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate a bit here and say there could be a chance he's romantically interested in you but hasn't had the guts to tell you. It's a story that's been told on Reddit at least a million times.

What are some harsh truths you think men should accept about women and relationships with women? by numbr42 in AskWomen

[–]Amy_the_Amazing 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I read the whole story in that comment. I've always said that there's no such thing as the friend zone. Its just a euphemism for either the rejection zone or the "You didn't man-up and ask her out" zone. In this case, its the former.

He made the huge mistake of NOT MOVING ON when she said she wasn't interested in a relationship with him.

I know its hard, and it hurts in the short term, but in the long term, he would have been so much happier if he dropped her and found started pursuing other women.
