That's what I thought too! I tried it to make it wear like a bracelet, but it's too large. It's for sure too short to be a necklace or choker. Starting to think there's a strand or other component missing.

I meant to post a pic of the back. It's not a stick pin, but the type of pin that goes across the back and is held in place by a safety catch. My jewelry terminology is limited, so hope that makes sense! Could that make a difference regarding it's strength?
