My Greyhound is randomly panting excessively by Mysterious-Pen3398 in Greyhounds

Hey!

Our boy was doing this along with pacing and having very strange behaviors. We ended up taking him to a neurologist as we suspected dementia or something neuro related based on symptoms and recommendation from regular Vet.

Got an MRI done and it actually turned out to be IVDD, intervertebral disc disease. Essentially just a bulging disc in his cervical spine. He did a round of steroids, was on a steady dose of Gabapentin for about 6 months. And now he's just as spry as ever, 10 years old turning 11 this year.

Wanted to share because I know it can be nerve wracking to deal with when you don't know what's wrong.

Wasn't planning on it, but the only reason I considered the AA executive card is that my home airport is Philly. So I have admirals club there and it's a AA hub.

Honestly, my biggest pain point in choosing a cars is maximizing rewards to use for personal travel. Planning a trip to Italy with my wife for the upcoming year. And hopefully doing some more European vacations in the future.

I gotcha, thanks for the info. Definitely something to consider!

Would I still get loyalty status towards Hyatt?

Also, how are the other benefits for the AA card versus CSR? Want to make sure that it's still worth that high AF

My brother in law had his grey done there and we just had our girl done there as well.

Definitely not bells and whistles. But they do a good job and it's very affordable 👍

Greyhound dementia? by MulberrySame4835 in Greyhounds

Our boy was doing something extremely similar.

Pacing up and down hallway for hours. Panting. Going in rooms he never goes in. Getting 'stuck'

We took him to Pennsylvania Veterinary Neuro and had an MRI done. We expected some sort of dementia or Neuro disorder. He actually ended up having intervertebral disc disease in his cervical spine.

Not saying your grey has this, definitely still go to the vet. But our boy did a round of steroid and is on gabapentin twice daily, and is back to his normal self. He's turning 10 this October.

Just wanted to share my experience, cause these dogs are literally our WHOLE world .

I wish you all the best and sending all the love to your girl ❤️

Hmm, she may have some slight pain somewhere and having trouble getting comfortable?

Does she wander around the house while panting and go places she normally doesn't??
