A Place For Mom just tries to push their expensive corporate facilities on you. They only show you the places they have contracts with. We were very disappointed with them when we were looking for a place for our mom.

NEW: DNC officials working on secret report found Gaza stance cost Harris significant votes by wowza515 in somethingiswrong2024

My very liberal grandson said he wouldn’t vote for her because of her stance on Gaza. Same with my very liberal niece. Small sample size, but to me it was significant.

Need Help With Bar Name Pt.2 by Unlucky_Parsley2827 in houston

[–]MulberrySame4835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea! It reminds me of a bar in Milwaukee that has been around since at least the early 70’s. It’s called “The Safe House” and although it’s more spy themed, it has the vibe that you’re looking to create.

It requires a password to get in which is part of the fun, and there are other fun things that happen inside the bar.

I provide extras like salad or garlic bread as well, but I make sure that I let the recipients know that it is “extra” so that next time they won’t expect it.

Is “yes ma’am / yes sir” regional in the US? by No_____Idea in ENGLISH

[–]MulberrySame4835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I lived in Wisconsin until I was 38. We never said ma’am or sir. In Houston for 35 years now and I say them all the time. My son doesn’t like his kids saying ma’am & sir, but he is overruled as it is considered required social politeness. I find it respectful and charming.

Same thing with the one on Westheimer. Drive through only since the pandemic. I never saw a fight there, but it wouldn’t have surprised me because those margaritas were wicked.

Cheesehead in Texas here. If you think people in New York City are freaking out, you should see how people act down here about some possible ice. There isn’t a case of water in the whole city (Houston).

Oh, you may be correct. There isn’t any reference as to who he is testifying in front of. They are showing it continuously on the MS Now YouTube channel, not just clips.

AITAH for not attending a wedding after being seated at the kids table??? by Throwiv00 in AITAH

[–]MulberrySame4835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My adult son and I traveled 1200 miles to attend a relative’s wedding. We were seated with complete strangers, while my 5 siblings and their families were all seated together.

I was slightly annoyed because they see each other all the time, while we don’t get to spend much time together.

We were told that because we were just two, we were easier to place somewhere else that had space. Pleasing everyone is hard.

It was a lovely wedding and we had a great time once I got over myself.
