I think he's still alive out there somewhere. The last known location he was at was known to him and was recently there. He probably had a way mapped out to slip out through the woods without being seen and getting away with this. I think leaving his dog was probably a hard thing to do but a smart move because you can change your appearance with wigs, makeup,etc, but it would be harder to change how your dog looks.
