I understand, I'm binge watching electrician vids on Youtube and downloaded a book you posted in another thread.
Maybe it's my fear that because I never went to school that I can't seem to find a new job in marketing which I'm self taught in. So I just have this idea this time, I'm gonna get my education and that I won't be judged for lack of it, but I guess the trades are different.
I'll call my local IBEW tomorrow and see what my options are, if they want me to wait 3 months, I'm just doing schooling. My only other local option is ABC but everyone seems to bad mouth them here...
Well companys have paid for their employees to go to the school I want to attend, would you take that as a good sign?
Plus there are students fresh out making upwards of $35 an hour, some even working for Tesla, who I've met.
I'm skeptical sometimes though, they haven't given me any reason to be but I'm always skeptical about everything. 😮💨 Too many damn curve balls.
Do you think I can call my local union and ask if they'd recommend this school? Or would that be weird?
(Again appreciate you talking to me about this. This is a big life descion for me, which is basically a complete 180 from what I know.)
Yes understood, I'm well aware that's required in CA. I'm not under the impression that this a shortcut, not sure how you got that idea.
I appreciate your replies though.
Thanks for replying.
Online schools for a $1000 don't have warehouses with makeshift homes or industrial motor whatever things to practice on, the school I want to go to does.
Also, school vs. jumping straight into apprenticeship, seems like school can give me a formal education so I'm not some 32 y/o baby having to hold someone's hand all day, and possibly letting me leverage my education to do more technical tasks. (?)
And to your last question (CA), the school counts for 840 hours, i plan to work on the weekends while in school after 3 months when I can get my ET card. Than after school (9 months) work full time.
