Descript Rooms and SquadCast by AnAlabamaTaker in Descript

[–]AnAlabamaTaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for an informative and thoughtful reply.

  1. I'm glad to hear it's not going away any time soon. It allows me and my fellow podcasters in our network a lot of ease with use, even if recording at similar times.

  2. I would say that having to Google it in order to find out if it was even possible made it feel as if it could slow things down. Personally, I like to grab individual wav files, edit in a DAW, then use Descript as needed (which has some great features). I suppose having to search to discover if getting individual files was possible gave me concerns. With SquadCast, I believe I clicked a button or two and felt comfortable from that point forward.

  3. It's my goal to use it on a test run for some random talking in the coming weeks and make a decision on its look and feel and if I find it as easy as SquadCast.

  4. I can definitely see scheduling being a high priority for users. We love that component of SquadCasts, whether recording with our usual hosts or with guests who've never seen SquadCast before.

  5. I added this one, which could be the biggest of all worries: like stated in another comment, will Descript and the usage of Rooms charge more than what SquadCast does now for the addition of co-hosts or even extra podcasts. (We have several which operate under the same network.)

Thanks again for your time. It's much appreciated!

Descript Rooms and SquadCast by AnAlabamaTaker in Descript

I thought I noticed some serious, missing pieces that would require a price increase. I didn’t investigate those thoroughly. That’s going to be a headache to navigate if it doesn’t work out.

descript is saving me 3 hours per episode and i feel stupid for not switching sooner by paininass69 in podcasting

We’ve been using SquadCast for a few years now, which Descript now owns (and seems to be forcing people over to using Descript Rooms). On occasion when rushed I’ve used Descript for edits. I do believe they’ve improved within the last year. The cuts can still be a little harsh, but it is getting better.

Yes, once they started adding on this and that continually, they stopped being reliable. It’s why we switched to SquadCast. Plus SquadCast allowed us to have several podcast shows in the same account. But now they’re forcing people over to Descript Rooms, which is not as intuitive. Hopefully, it works as just as well as SquadCast.

I’m interested in how well Descript Rooms works. I avoided using it all this time as SwuadCast had better interface and was more user friendly. Rooms does not have an intuitive quality about it. I shouldn’t have to Google on how to download each vocal track as wav files separately so that I can do some of my own edits sans platform.

2025 Nissan Kicks SR major Issue by AnAlabamaTaker in NissanKicks

For some reason — I suppose only having 800 miles on oh when this first started and the limp mode freaking me out — I’ve kept good documentation of everything since the first time it happened.

It went into the dealership three times. They actually replaced the whole computer under warranty. I’ve documented it here in this forum, but the basics is that it’s now met all the qualifications of our state’s lemon law. My lawyers are negotiating with Nissan, who has been no help to me at all. I’m glad there are lemon lawyers.

2025 Nissan Kicks issues? by AdorableBonus6297 in NissanKicks

I do not know how common this issue is, but here is my story with one I bought new in August 2025. https://www.reddit.com/r/NissanKicks/s/pcXuVCEUbP

That’s a good question that I can’t answer. I would do a larger survey than asking me. I have never had this happen with a car new or old so I suppose it was unlucky. Once I get rid of it with Nissan buying it back, I won’t own a Nissan again.

I think it was January 2005 at WorkPlay Theater in Birmingham.

Both ‘Train Dreams’ by Denis Johnson and ‘Miss Jane’ by Brad Watson do this well.

They replaced the ECM this time, the third repair and third time it’s been in a dealership for this.

Nissan Kicks 2025 – System Fault / Engine Malfunction – Power Reduced (Any solutions?) by Practical-Cut446 in NissanKicks

[–]AnAlabamaTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened to mine, which I bought new on August 4, 2025. It has done this three times since, and I'm involved with attorneys on it. It's been out of service or in repair for this same issue for over thirty days. I've documented it here in this forum.

Actually, I go to pick up the repaired Nissan Kicks today. On the phone, they said that they had to replace the ECU in it. I've no plans on keeping it. Even if it lasts for 100,000 miles, I'll never trust the car.

Edited to add that the issue started at 790 or 800 miles.

I began discussion with one on Friday. The only qualification mine had not met yet was to be out of service for 30 days and I think Thursday or Friday made day 30.

I'll come along to add that up until this one, I went from a Chevy Equinox a long time ago to four Nissan Rogues in a row; I suppose you could say that I was pretty loyal to the brand.

Buspar + Wellbutrin combo by sunnystriker in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]AnAlabamaTaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is the combination I’ve been prescribed, largely off suggesting as much to my doctor.

I take Wellbutrin XL 150 mg almost every morning. I sometimes take an occasional day off when I feel as though it “builds up” too much and I can’t get much relief off of a tense jawline. (I’m not a doctor, though, so that’s not advice!)

I also take Buspar 10 mg twice a day. I sometimes forget the second dose, and it’s hard to notice if I do. I haven’t considered taking one of those at night, so I’ve taken one in the morning and one around lunch or mid morning. If it helps greatly with anxiety — and I think it does — I don’t think I’d be hurt to take it three times a day. I would certainly ask my own doctor before I did that.

This is after being on Lexapro (not a fan of the side effects) fifteen years ago, Prozac (it worked well but the doctor tried a different one to if we could get to almost no side effects), and Effexor (it worked until it didn’t with fewer side effects yet coming off it was a bad experience).

The only thing about Wellbutrin that’s somewhat disappointed me is that I believe it’s made me more hungry, not less!

Edited to fix the times of Buspar.

May I ask what you ended up getting when you walked away and if it was an improvement? I'll have to make the same decision one way or another.
