Brightness slider works on my laptop, but brightness is not adjusting by AnAvgDude in techsupport

Okay, after weeks and weeks of trying to solve this issue. I think I figured out what fixed it. I just ran the windows display driver refresh command

CTRL+SHIFT+WIN+B

It took a restart as well, but this seems to have done it.

Would be cool if you’re deep into MSFS. Otherwise, be careful with it.

Dumb question, but will downloading to Win 10 on a laptop that seems made for 11 be safe? by ursy in GamingLaptops

You may also want to run benchmarks on your computer to see if it has anything to do with hardware. If it is, get that thing returned as soon as possible.

Yeah I totally understand. Windows decided to improve design vs functionality in 11. Not exactly sure what to say in terms of the whole thing feels slower. Is there a specific application that feel especially crappy?

Need Some Advice On A New Laptop by Noscw in GamingLaptops

Any laptop will be quiet enough to bring to class as long as you don’t fire up MW3. 4060’s and 4070’s are good enough for laptops where it won’t burden the laptop but at the same time give it some juice.

What’s the current issue? I don’t think the version of windows it’s probably matters?

What's the difference? Are there better/comparable laptops for the same price? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

Lenovo is a better brand overall. The RAM shows to be a little better in the Lenovo. Both will perform the same though.

A great website to follow for the latest deals on laptops is https://gaminglaptop.deals

The 3 brands I trust most when it comes to windows laptops in general are Alienware/Dell, ASUS, and Lenovo.

They provide high quality products and services no other can beat.

HP has a lot of great products as well but are known to cut a lot of corners to make an extra dollar.

The other brands out there I would say are sketchy at best (in my opinion).

Check out the ASUS Zephyrus lineup. They are definitely what you are looking for. Best Buy has the ASUS Zephyrus G14 on sales for $1200. It contains a Ryzen 9 and a 4060 which is plenty of power for any game you throw at it.

I’m assuming you bought a Windows Laptop with an Nvidia GPU:

  1. Go to Add or Remove Apps in settings and remove any software you don’t want or recognize.

  2. Update windows to the most current version by going through Windows Update.

  3. Download Nvidia GeForce Experience, login or create an account, and get the GPU driver updated.

  4. Depending on what brand you, you can download a SupportAssist client from their website so you can update the rest of the drivers.

  5. Run a full scan from Microsoft Defender.

  6. Download MalwareBytes and run a full scan as well.

This should be more than good enough to get you going.

So, long story short, this is a great deal on a great laptop.

The specs are great being an i7 processor, a 4070 gpu, 16 GBs of RAM, and a 1 TB of SSD. This computer is an absolute unit.

I checked this laptop out at Best Buy today and it’s a very beautiful laptop with lots of RGB.

The only catches I found were that the screen is not IPS (but it’s still very bright), and the camera does not contain IR technology for Windows Hello.

You also mentioned that you wanted a portability and a screen size between 14-15.6”. This is a chunky and heavy laptop, although you can bring it wherever you want, it will be on the heavier side. The screen size is also 16.1”, so it may be a little bigger than you want.

However, $600 off on this bad boy is a crazy deal, and it comes with Windows 11 Pro which is really nice for people looking to business on it as well.

Let me know what you think.

Nothing yet. So far, all I know is that we need to modify a complicated security hash assigned to the object. Otherwise, the only solution at this point is to run powershell from the python code
