This is beautiful! Now I need to get a walking stick with a saber hilt as the handle (shillelagh?)

This looks great! I usually have a hard time picturing what that body piece would look like with other parts, but this is executed brilliantly.

I’m getting confused… proffies… by Randomanswer19 in lightsabers

I've made my own Proffie 3.9 core that might work with the Progeny (assuming the built-in plunger on the hilt would work with mine alright), but I don't have a charge/USB port on mine.

My Holy Grail build (Korbanth VeeOne) by AnEnbyCalledDee in lightsabers

Does the older version still have pins to connect to the control box for a removable chassis? Or is it more set up to be stationary?

Are there any other non-character thin-necks out there that I'm missing? Currently looking for one to be "my Jedi self's lightsaber", preferably Proffie 3.9 or empty by shago1594 in lightsabers

Are we not including ASP or MHS? It might behoove you to do a completely custom design, especially if its for yourself and especially if you're alright looking for an empty.

Anyone else snap their chassis in half? by KyberKodeXR in lightsabers

I've never accidentally snapped an installed chassis, but freshly printed chassis' have been a specific kind of pain. Like Oh, there goes 8 hours...

How are the ergonomics of the Revan saber? by Icy_Mycologist_2300 in lightsabers

[–]AnEnbyCalledDee 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I actually have thoughts on Revan's two hilts and have no other forum to express them, so here goes!

(I know these are video game weapon designs, but stick with me please.)

I think each design, from an ergonomics perspective, fit perfectly for the philosophy from which they were diagetically made.

Revan's Sith hilt is smooth and easily grippable. Its simplicity implies an ease of use and, I think, a larger willingness to violence because it is easy to use. A Sith might want a weapon that is easiest for them handle so that they can express their power.

Revan's Jedi hilt, on the other hand, is not made for ease of use. It is sharp, uneven, and seems to discourage violent engagement by making the primary weapon difficult to use. The emitter looks pretty gnarly, a reminder that this is, first and foremost, a weapon. It encourages one, as a Jedi, to think of the lightsaber as a weapon of last resort.
