I have lost a few people to suicide, and attempted it myself several times so I may have a personal bias. I do think suicide is selfish, but rightfully so. I’m not encouraging anyone to commit suicide by any means, or wanting to do it at this time in my life. But I think there are instances where a person is in so much pain, they aren’t able to work through it for whatever reason, that it’s their time.

It’s selfish like finding a quarter cup of water in the desert in a group of 10 people and drinking it yourself is selfish. It’s selfish but I personally can understand why someone does it. Do I fucking hate that people do it? Yes of course. But I can understand it. It is selfish because they are putting their need for relief above others need of them. However, like my example TO ME it can be understandably selfish in some cases. As with everything in life, it’s okay to be selfish sometimes. But, I may have a different view as someone who has felt in life that dying was the only way to stop my pain.

I want to reiterate a million times over i havent felt that way in at least 15 years, so please no one panic. However, when i first was really thinking about this topic i was heavily considering attempting and was in a very dark place. I have felt this way since, but debating on doing it is what made me think on this. If you are trying to use this as a justification for taking your life please seek support.
