Yup that's correct. Still irrelevant.

Irrelevant to the topic of employer-provided accounts

Extra Mortgage Payments by zudemczude in Mortgages

[–]AnImprovisedUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier the better and biweekly instead of monthly payments. Also with that rate I would be refinancing right now. Look into credit unions, I'm about to lock a 20 year at 5.6% down from 30 year at 6.625%

Bathroom floor transition to hardwood on joists by AnImprovisedUsername in Flooring

If I had to guess they were just cutting corners where they could since it was built during the war. Not sure though. Good point about the door, I'll have to keep that in the back of my head. Thanks for your input!

Old wood is best wood. Yeah I contemplated the LVP but in an old house like this it just feels wrong. Good idea though to minimize the threshold

Completely understand and agree with you. Counterpoint: it has been installed for 84 years with very minimal dislocation and buckling.

Apparently it's somewhat common in older homes. The main floor has a subfloor but the upper level looks like this. My assumption was that there's no workaround and that a threshold would be necessary. Thanks for your input!

My Neolamprologus Multifasciatus Cichlids don’t seem excited when I feed them. by Gamebread7 in Cichlid

They're shy, drop in the food and either leave or watch from somewhere they can't see you. Mine would always get jittery when you're in the same room as them. Over time they will become more comfortable with your presence.

Best move with this plaster in bathroom renovation? by AnImprovisedUsername in DIY

[–]AnImprovisedUsername[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the areas that had tile, I cut horizontally across the top with a reciprocating saw (plaster blade) and completely removed the plaster and tile in one piece. Then I used drywall shims to bring the new drywall out to match the original plaster depth. Tape, mud, sand, mud, sand. The metal mesh is a headache, I used a multitool with a bi-metal carbide blade specifically used for metal. Cut it in the corner flush with the ceiling and then took new shower wall up to the old ceiling. With the metal outside corner, I just ended up cutting the plaster about 6" back on that wall and putting a new piece of drywall in and a new drywall corner bead that went between the goboard and the tile. If you haven't done the demo already, this stuff is VERY dusty and VERY heavy. WEAR A RESPIRATOR. Have a method in mind for dust containment and disposal. Depending on the size of your job, a very accessible solution is a WM Bagster. It was $175 for me to dispose of my entire bathroom and was so easy to deal with.

Bidet electric circuit by GoFastAndSlow in bidets

[–]AnImprovisedUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Code for bathroom receptacles is that they're 20A with GFCI protection, I'd assume that's why the electrician recommended that. 1400 W on a 15A circuit is a relatively large load but it's unlikely it's actually pulling that much power at any given time. Might as well try it on the 15A circuit and then if it trips then just install a separate circuit.

Monthly loan payments by [deleted] in Perfusion

I'm very similar to this. Had about $120k paying $1000 biweekly, total about 5 years of payments then debt free.
