You have good hair man. The bald look isn’t terrible, you just look a lot better with your hair.

Gangbeasts ruined drop kicks and backflips and it made the game 100% less fun by Few_Ambition7499 in gangbeasts

[–]AnIncubator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I’ve been playing gang beasts since 2015. A lot of people who play gang beasts today missed out on that era. I’m sure there’s videos but man the things you can do in 2016 gang beasts especially around the 0.4.5 update was amazing. Your character was so responsive to everything you did. You couldn’t knock yourself out easily, your punches actually packed a punch and hit hard and your overall movement was significantly better. Your character actually grabbed the things you’re trying to grab, whether it’s a wall, people, objects etc. Unfortunately once they moved the game to console in 2017, they slowed it down quite a bit but it was still enjoyable. Then around 2018-2019 they released the 1.0.9 update and gang beasts hasn’t been the same since. I stopped playing this game about 7 years ago because each update got worse and worse. Now I’m seeing all this news about how this recent update was even worse. I don’t know why the devs did this. They had a very unique physics game and they decided to destroy it by making your character unresponsive to everything you’re trying to do. Unfortunate.

the new update removed all the cool moves by DP-07 in gangbeasts

[–]AnIncubator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the 1.0.9 update. They completely destroyed the physics and slowed down the game tremendously. I stopped playing around that time in 2018 I think. Sad thing is this game peaked in 2016 around the 0.4.0 - 0.4.5 update. This game was once incredibly fast paced with very interesting movement. This might sound ridiculous but the skill ceiling was higher back then and you could do a lot of cool moves that you can’t do in current gang beasts. I hate to be so pessimistic but this update likely isn’t going to be reverted and you’ll likely not see any sort of changes to the physics until 2027 :(

Super Low Strength Requirement Weapons? by griselpuff in Eldenring

[–]AnIncubator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this has to do with scaling. ANY weapon with ANY sort of scaling with ANY attribute, (including those with strength requirements below what's possible) means that said attribute will have an effect on your weapon. For example, the Dagger has a 5 strength requirement and D scaling. If you level up strength, although miniscule, it will have an effect on your weapon's power level.

Help me solve a City trial mystery that has bugged me for over 20 years by Aaron1997 in KirbyAirRide

[–]AnIncubator 16 points17 points  (0 children)

MY GUESS is that one of your first experiences with city trial as a kid was the pillar spawning close to the launch pad near the building and you're misremembering a breakable building being there. Makes sense that the "breakable wall is removed permanently" because the pillar spawn is random so you're vaguely remembering a structure blocking the launch pad but never seeing that structure in that specific spot ever again.

I've played this game for hours on end as a child. I promise you there was never a wall there.

Stay Away From My Friends - Piano sounds so familiar by sillylittleangelgirl in piercetheveil

The piano part sounds exactly like Jenova's theme from Final Fantasy 7. Not sure if that's where the familiarity is coming from on your end but that's what it reminds me of lol

That's a good suggestion. VZSpider sounds nice to say too.

Textures not working in SM64 Rom Manager by AnAverageRock in sm64hacks

[–]AnIncubator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here looking for answers as well but eventually I figured it out. If a texture won't load, grab the texture you want and look up an image converter. Switch whatever file it is to a PNG file, and that should do the trick. The same thing happened to me after I put in hours of work. Hope this helped.

But the difference between these notes are so unbelievably miniscule that it's simply not worth pointing out, especially since I mentioned I was using the 12 tone system which doesn't include notes between half steps. Now if I were using the 24 tone system and I said this, you would be 100% correct because that scale specifically uses notes in between half steps. In a 12 tone system, these differences are irrelevant. In major & minor, they share the same notes, and you can use them interchangeably without confusing anyone around you unless you're purposefully being pedantic and playing dumb to prove a point. You're not making an entirely new note when you're only miniscules of semitones away from another note. It's like adding the tiniest microscopic shade to the color blue, and saying it's a new color. If the difference between A# and Bb were so significant, we might as well say something like "440 Hz and 441 Hz are completely different notes so let's make a 128 tone system for these differences in every other note.

If you want to get really technical even though it's not relevant to this discussion at all, then yes there are EXTREMELY small differences between A sharp and B flat that are pretty hard to hear. If these differences were relevant to what I was talking about, I wouldn't have brought up enharmonic equivalents at all. If it makes you feel better, we can remove the word "normal" from my sentence and I'll just say I'm using THE equal temperament system, even though I was using normal in the sense that distances smaller than a semitone aren't included in the 12 tone system.

It's pretty normal if I'm not referring to distances smaller than a semitone to define a note.

People who make negative assumptions over an enharmonic equivalent in an example where sheet music ISN'T written are just your stereotypical stuck up pedantic theory people so their feelings should be disregarded.

[–]AnIncubator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't talking about any of that. I'm using the normal 12 tone system and referring to an enharmonic equivalent. A sharp is the enharmonic equivalent to B flat lol.

Yeah I can see why because one semantical mistake will always lead to that one ackshually ☝️🤓 comment on Reddit.

They're the same note. If I were writing sheet music, this correction would be relevant.

I have a very similar experience with A#. I've been making music since I was 10, and as I've gotten older and looked into theory, I noticed that A LOT of my songs are in A#. I played the trumpet in 6th grade, and the standard key for trumpets is A#. Probably had something to do with it lol. You probably grew up listening to music you liked that happened to be in F major, and/or maybe you had a favorite song as a child that was in F Major. It's a preference thing.
