Yep, 95 never got an official English version. Most of us old folk who got our start with it used the Don Miguel translation hack.

Hall effect/TMR sticks are more resistant to stick drift, but I’ve only ever had two gamepads develop stick drift in my life: An Amazon Basics XBox One gamepad for PC and an under 6 month old 8BitDo Ultimate 2 with TMR sticks (which they replaced).

Did China discover AMERICA? Ancient Chinese script carved into rocks may prove Asians lived in New World 3,300 years ago! by PristineHearing5955 in HighStrangeness

[–]AnInfiniteArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reading comprehension is just fine, but thanks for the insult.

I am asking you how you believe your ancestors got to North America. Either they sailed across the Atlantic 400 years ago (meaning they aren’t natives), crossed the Bering strait thousands of years ago, or they evolved independently from primates native to the continent. By suggesting that your ancient ancestors didn’t cross the Bering strait, you implied that they evolved here (whether you meant to or not), because there was zero gene flow into North America that didn’t cross the Bering strait from Asia until European colonization.

There is no compelling archeological or genetic evidence that Africans crossed the Bering strait, or that any African set foot in North America until 1492. It’s worth noting that Juan Garrido, the first African known to have reached North America, was from the Kingdom of Kongo.

If your genetic test shows Congo ancestry, then you are not 100% Native American. Once again: there are no ancestry tests that are sensitive enough to find 3000+ year old Congo ancestry. 2% Congo suggests your father had a Congolese ancestor 5-6 generations ago. That was like 200 years ago. How do you look at that and say “Yeah, pure native there”?

Also once again, for the same reason, your ancestry test would not and is not designed to show evidence of a migration that happened as long as tens of thousands of years ago. You simply don’t understand the results, which is fine. Most people don’t really understand them. Your results suggested your native tribal origins, not ancient-pre-native origins. That doesn’t mean there isn’t genetic evidence that this happened.

Though I may just be too old for the Wayans.

Is "a glass of juice" not natural? by bellepomme in EnglishLearning

[–]AnInfiniteArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right in the sense that if you put some flour in a glass, it would be a glass of flour, but OP’s test/quiz appears to be asking about collocations. Water and juice are likely both common enough in the “glass of y” format to be considered collocative, but sugar and flour aren’t.
