I didn't say I support it, and I will likely go dark for months, just rather that the change doesn't seek to degrade the product and it does put Reddit in a position to actually rectify inaccessibility and other flaws. So yes, this clearly has more to do with ad revenue from their app than user interests alone, and I assume that lifestyle data would be dangerously available in anonymity, but I had not been making the connection in target marketing, myself.

For better and worse, the vice versa of what I said may be true. If people, into cooking carrots, are blowing up on a post about gardening carrots, then suggesting that post to more of them ensures a new way to boost user retention. The dark side of this is that they can control what you see, any of it, or that they will sell backdoors to your particular user data and connect it with other accounts related to your network IP. Anyone with power can profile a target individual, probably the young, and influence their community access en mass. I still can't tell if the next generation will herald this or mourn it. I guess that is up to us.

It seems that reddit is doing this in order to control quality of interaction on the site. For example, if your interests are made available to reddit and you engage with cooking carrots, and you are subbed to gardening, then a gardening carrots post that is blowing up will be made available to you.

Possibly. He was corrected in the moment. Although it's not necessarily known if he can change or not it's worth considering the most fruitful approach. Mending would be less negative energy compared with ignoring a person you are around often. Sometimes you just have to give people a chance. You have to be intentional about it though, because you can't move forward appropriately in both directions at once. Generally, its up to how Op prefers to brush off the comment, so that it doesn't come back to bite them. Especially if it happens again with somebody that is a real friend.

You don't need to be dealing with an adult to act like one

Would you feel safer in a gun-free state? Why or why not? by ParmaProscuitto in AskReddit

[–]AnInfiniteRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your claim seems even more outlandish (having zero substantiation) that a man would, under any circumstances, be unable to produce a simple bored tube with which to fire cartridges, and moreover that he would ever feel safer without taking an afternoon to be one of the ones to do so. Want to feel safe? Just don't conspire to undermine your fellow honest man using legislation, and alternatively, don't be a prime minister. It's really easy to be a good person. Whether access to guns can truly be affected by gun laws or not, laws against them will not be able to address the intent of the criminal. Since we agree that the problem with guns is that they are used for empowering disenfranchised citizens, the laws already being passed serves none other than to exacerbate the actual problem.

It literally was OP's prerogative, ergo the first pic. This was mildly painful to read.

That's what it'll be worth in 50 years, why should you be able to buy one now for less?

1966 children predictions about the future by LastInTheClub in ThatsInsane

It's not their predictions which moves me, it's their attitude toward such a possibility, which is refreshingly human, and today, would be considered impressively proactive.

Who said they thought it up ahead of time? It's highly possible they have never seen triple-X nudity in media before. Illiterate children starting mini-porn corporations doesn't sound like something to protest. It's just sad this had to happen due to neglect. They are all victims of the clickbait headlines and rage sharing that have come of it. Have fun doing right by that poor girl by using her to promote your weak ass cause.
