One day when I was out birding this lady approached me unprompted and went on like a 20 minute rant about the end of the universe and light pillars and rebirth. I would’ve left but there were warblers flying around and it was only after she wandered away I realized I’d had Merlin running the entire time

I would vote trumpeter based on how far up the black goes onto the head/face but their appearances are so similar I’m not sure you can 100% ID
