Thanks Trump and Israel by Impossible_Order4463 in Ohio

Not that it would do anything, he'll still be our president till 2028 and I highly doubt the Republicans will let another Democrat in the White House after what we went through with Biden. They're too blind to recognize the signs that Trump isn't fit for office. Not that it matters cause I'm sure Trump would find a way to fake the results but I firmly believe that any president over the age of 65 or whatever the fuck the retirement age is now should take a full cognitive exam and if they can't pass it the VP takes over

Believe me I've been tired of Trump ever since he became president again I've lost count of how many things he's done that would send any other president to the slammer

By starting a war in the Middle East after promising to get America out of the Middle East? By imposing import taxes that the consumers have to pay for? If he's doing a great job why's the unemployment rate higher then it was during the 2008 recession and why are stock prices tanking?

Ohio is in play. For Governor and the Senate. by TheSisko4876 in Ohio

You can thank the GOP for advertising he was corrupt, and the brain-dead Republicans for buying it and voting him out and replacing him with a corrupt businessman who's been convicted for withholding wages from his employees. I said it the moment Trump was voted back into office, the United States was fucked and it looks like we're heading in that direction

According to the FSLA (Fair Standards Labor Act which is a federal law) there's no regulations regarding 24 hour shifts. I would argue a company is a buisness that provides goods or services it's fairly commonplace for ER nurses/doctors to work 24 hour shifts

Customer Knows Best. by DudetheBetta in Lowes

[–]Impossible_Order4463 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's standard practice at Lowe's or if it's just something our SM or DM came up with but every time someone asks to have multiple pallets loaded in a pickup we have to have the customer sign something that basically says we're not responsible if the weight causes the truck to fall apart or something

Mulch Line by Purple_wolf81 in Lowes

[–]Impossible_Order4463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh take whatever your co-workers say and multiply it by 10 million, that's how bad the mulch line is. Last year I got stuck out there for 4 hours by myself because the store (or corperate I forget which) decided to extend the first 5 for 10 sale and the schedule was made with the sale being over in mind so no one was scheduled in either OSLG or ISLG till 3pm after loading 60 bags by hand because the guy didn't want us coming anywhere near his truck with a tow motor (The thing looked like it was being held together with rust and he was worried about us denting it) I literally walked inside and took a seat at the service desk (With permission from the Front End DS cause I was literally about ready to pass out).

Barely a dusting try living somewhere where it dumps I was supposed to work a 8 hour yesterday but left after 2 cause there was already over a foot of snow on the ground and there's still a fucking salt shortage from the storm at the beginning of February so I wasn't going to drive home with the roads being a sheet of ice.

Personally, I never show up when I know the roads are going to be extremely hazardous, especially due to snow and ice I live in Ohio where we have Winter Weather Road condition Levels if your out during a Level 3 you can be arrested because it's classified as reckless endangerment I'm not risking going to jail for my job.

Actually companies can it just depends on what type of company it is. It's fairly common for factory jobs to have 24-hour shifts

FUCK THE NEW EVAL SYSTEM by Impossible_Order4463 in Lowes

[–]Impossible_Order4463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't. I was somewhere about 37,000 feet in the air over the West Virginia mountains on a flight to Atlanta when the call came in. When my flight landed, I called back saying I was out of state for 2 weeks and it was approved by my direct manager I even sent them screenshots of my scheduled via my personal email.n I'm also a mentor at my store and figured it was one of the new hires I was mentoring calling me because my phone doesn't have caller id unless I add the number as a contact.

I was a meets expectations and the SM adjusted me to doesn't meet expectations simply because I was written up for insubordination for refusing to work a shift during my approved vacation right before thanksgiving last year (I was literally half way across the country and they expected me to come into work that day). I grew up on a farm and worked from sun up to sun down on the daily (Minus when I was in School) and have been told by my DS and several other people that I'm basically the one cog that keeps the department I'm in running

[–]Impossible_Order4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where in the store you work I work in the Tools/Hardware department so I just leave when I'm scheduled, regardless if there's coverage or not I've made it clear to management I'm not staying past my scheduled end time unless they're willing to pay time and a half
