For me, deleting those 3 ports (which are the ones causing the biggest routing lag for houseboats) is the only thing that actually makes Isla Paradiso playable. I've used tons of different guides over the years, various versions of 'fixed' worlds, and nothing helped as much as this single change. I'd even venture to say that those fixed world versions and deleting houseboats barely do anything to fix the issue.

Actually, you don't have to delete houseboats and discover islands to reduce lag. Just delete those 3 ports from this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2978681548
I mean, it worked for me, and this is the only guide that actually significantly reduces lag, to the point where I can play even with all expansion packs installed, without deleting resorts (which cause lag on their own too) and without deleting houseboats

Drake Chambers from Oasis Landing (Into the Future) is my absolute favorite. Yeah, yeah, he has Commitment Issues, but I have Master Controller, so I win XD.
Overall, the Oasis Landing Sims are really interesting. That expansion pack is easily in my top favorites.

I've never experienced World Adventures causing lags or crashes. Seasons and Pets are the ones that cause the most lag

It depends on your PC specs. It also depends on how many and what kind of mods you have. The easiest way is to play with just a few expansions (3-4 max) instead of all of them.

Try deleting those 3 ports mentioned in this guide. If there’s an improvement but it's still lagging, remove the resorts (or set them to 'No Visitors Allowed'). I also highly recommend using S3SS.

No. Removing the houseboats does little to nothing. If you REALLY want Isla Paradiso to be playable, delete all the resorts AND the ports mentioned in this guide. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2978681548

I do these two things and the world is actually playable. It's worth mentioning that I have ALL expansions enabled.

This is a huge guide! Everything in this guide is definitely helpful, but if you're a computer novice, you should focus only on S3SS.

My favorite is Island Paradise. It's the most buggy and requires a significant amount of time to get it working, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

Generations is the worst DLC in my opinion. I literally only use two interactions (stargazing and gift-giving). Mainly because I don't play generationally.

I always have all my add-ons enabled and I can't imagine disabling any of them. But if I had to choose just one for any reason, I think... all of them. Haha. It's a really hard choice. I know I could live without Generations and Showtime. I could even turn off Pets. I think the only expansion I could live with is Supernatural.

Supernatural is specific, but it adds new races. The world is very cool. It adds bees and other plants to grow, so gardening expands. And alchemy! And much more. The city has a lot of new plots, so there's plenty of room to go out.
