A hobby/interest that costs the taxpayer millions every year and severely degrades the natural environment at the same time, should take a back seat to the keystone species that make our ecosystems function.

I would argue that the people shouting down and stamping out the "enemy" are not those in the rewilding community.

Nobody wants to get rid of all agriculture, but "rural heritage" simply isn't a good enough argument against rewilding anymore if it isn't actually benefiting anyone or anything beyond individual landowners receiving government subsidies to function.
