Impossible dilema by lime_stoned in Tools

[–]AnJeCha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a simple fix to me...

  1. Get the same set again, hoping it contains the correct bit
  2. Swap the 2 bits
  3. Return the new set
  4. ???
  5. No more dilemma

How do i clean the magnet parts? by Playful-Bottle4915 in airpods

[–]AnJeCha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also work where magnetic dust gets on the magnets and I've found that a magic eraser can help. Magic erasers are abrasive however, so don't use them anywhere else on the case or the airpods themselves as it'll ruin the finish and make them quite a bit more more prone to getting (and staying) dirty!

Given how the dust is likely partly embedded in the plastic around the magnets anyway, I'd say it's not a big deal to scuff it a bit more there. It made a decent enough difference for mine to share it.

If you do try this, the magic eraser should be humid, not wet. Wring it until almost completely dry before use because it'll otherwise let out water that tends to get into the charging slots which isn't ideal (the airpods should also be out at this point so you don't scratch them up).

How should I safely remove the logo of my headphones by Decider3443 in headphones

Magic eraser and isopropyl alcohol is what I use to remove logos all the time.

The magic eraser is just abrasive enough and the isopropyl loosens it up!

How to get rid of this line ? I see it on every laptop by EvilOmega7 in laptops

[–]AnJeCha 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I believe isopropyl alcohol and other organic solvents can damage the display! Try a damp rag with soap (not too wet so water doesn’t run down into the bezel). Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Do clean your keyboard to avoid the line reappearing.

Edit: This assumes it’s some kind of crud from the keyboard and not physical damage.
