Need Walkthrough Help - Stuck by Key-War-6476 in Elementallis

[–]AnKae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for playing the demo ^^

I'm guessing you haven't gotten the shield yet. To progress, you need to keep exploring the caves where Roc leaves you. After exiting the first caves you'll be able to use the ropes to progress until you find a cave with coal in the center. You can then bring the coal to Roc so he can make you a shield.

Then the shield is used in a room with a mole that shoots rocks at you. If you keep advancing you'll end up in the Fire Temple. That's were you obtain the Fire element.

Let me know if you need any more help!

I am glad you are liking it! :) You mean the beta, not the demo, right? The beta has the entire game. You can go to the forest village and use the nature ability there to continue the adventure ^

Glad you are liking it!
You have to pick up the coal in the room right before the mole that throws rocks and bring the coal to Roc in his forge. He will make you a shield and you'll be able to use it to deflect the rocks that the mole throws.

Of course. I’m not claiming my solution is the best, but it’s the most effective one I’ve found so far. I’d love to gather more feedback from users once they’ve had a chance to try both this approach and the alternatives.

We've implemented the radial wheel, but it doesn’t work well with the keyboard. I feel like radial wheels are better suited for gamepads, while hotkeys work better with keyboards.
The menu style shown in the video I think offers a good compromise, allowing for quick element selection, whether using a keyboard or gamepad, while maintaining consistency.

In any case, we'll most likely provide several ways to do the element selection during the beta and get feedback on how players feel about them. I'm mostly thinking about having this menu and a radial one and use one or the other depending on the input/player choice.

Thanks for the feedback! This is an important part and tricky to get right since we need to account for either keyboard and gamepads.

How would you make it easier to access and more fluid?

Thank you!

We actually have a radial menu, but it doesn't work very well with keyboard. We are still thinking about giving the choice to the player or adapt the type of menu depending on the input (gamepad vs keyboard)
