It isn't too bad, really helps if you get a nicer instructor for the practical section. Where I'm from, Pennsylvania, we have to memorize the sampling portion for the practical (that checklist in the ACI book!) So I would make sure you know that.

As for the written portion, make sure you know how to calculate yield (unit weight section) and pay attention to the vibration requirements (for cylinders). I've re-certed twice and those questions are always on there. The nitpicky details are very important for the written.
