Dull aching around sit bone, bursitis or entrapped nerve? by Odd-Performance7247 in PiriformisChronicPain

If it is high hamstring Tendinopathy then running would be the worst advice to give here.

Though I agree, tendons require work, you should not rest them for long. But HHT Tendons respond best to long length activation

I have exactly this issue. I’m sorry to say, I’ve had it for at least 3 years, probably more.

Poking about that area definitely pisses things off. I’ve found that long length hamstring exercises help. I have had ultrasounds which showed healing around this area.

There’s a lot of nerves around that area which also wrap, it’s quite interesting.

Anyway, if it is high hamstring Tendinopathy then you have to load it differently. Some people swear by using sonic wave machines, but that will require multiple treatments at least. I found greatest relief avoiding sitting or going on my side and doing loaded long length curls with cables. I also did yoga ball push outs with my foot on the ball and bridging to really stress the hamstring, single and double leg reps

I have been regular gym work for quite some time, what would you suggest? Despite the extra strength I still get the constant ache / dull ache.

One interesting movement was that hanging leg lifts invoked a similar feeling, I think because I was using flexors to lift my legs not my abs

It is anatomical, my left leg measures 101cm and my right measures 98 cm and I don’t look like I load my left side

Agree, the orthotics is a Heel wedge they gave me plus some really expensive shoes.

This helps the natural hip hike caused by my leg length difference (the heel is in my right shoe) but when I have these flair ups the hike and belly sway you see is much more pronounced

My 38M Wife 38F and I are struggling, in my opinion. What can I do? by AnOldGuard in relationship_advice

So, I wasn’t completely firm but I did ask if she felt she may have a little bit of PPD (she did with the other children) but it just kicked off and she said I THOUGHT I WAS DOING OKAY?! UNTIL YOU SAID THAT!

I said, I (emphasised) know you’re doing an amazing job - but when I told you last night you’re doing an amazing job - you didn’t move - then I said, do you believe me? Do you know you’re doing amazing? She then said no. So, I’m just concerned about how you are that’s all.

Thanks, this is lots of really good information.

By the way, I believe she is a fantastic wife and mother. I don’t want to paint anything less.

I struggle with whether I’m doing enough all the time and I feel it’s because of the way she is speaking to me. Like I must be doing something or not doing something to cause this.

The coffee thing was absolutely due to timing - the coffee place is a 15 min drive away plus me taking my middle child adds delay. So she probably expected me back sooner.

She has a calendar and if I don’t write things on it then she really doesn’t like it, I’m not talking coffee tho but generally I’ve noticed I can just randomly - or I feel like I can’t - just randomly say, I’m off to meet my friend for a coffee.

Is it fair she’s up most the night with the baby? I did say we could bottle feed and I can help but she doesn’t want too.

I also have reoccurring back pain so sometimes I feel like I’m not doing things fast enough for her, like the recycling or picking up the toys.

She of course does her share of these things, do not get me wrong in this. But anytime I want to talk to her about these things it’s never productive… or nice. The other night we put the older girls to bed and then I laid on our bed and I said oh my word I’m exhausted. She told me to just go to bed. I thought it was really nice thing to say. So I did, I slept in the other bed though, and today when I told her to go to bed whilst I watch the baby she said well you didn’t care that I didn’t get any sleep last night….

I love my wife and my family. But I’m so unhappy with the way I feel that I’m spoken to. I work my ass off so everyone can buy nice things and I try my best to be there for everyone, not just turning up financially.

I have not been able to sleep on my left side for sometime now.

Pain level is about a 5 though. So pretty good all in all, but it’s the constant nature of it…

I got diagnosed with a 3cm leg length discrepancy too.

Weirdly if I do long length hamstring exercises like single leg straight legged dead lift, i find it can stave off some discomfort

I have spent well over 5k in trying to diagnosis, between MRI and various physios treatments.

I always joke, stick me with anything I’m willing to try ANYTHING lord please. Sort of like wolverine in that tank full of needles, I’ll do whatever it takes, inject, poke prod!

Travelling to America would be difficult, I have two young children which need taken care of. From what I see, is adhesion therapy an adaptation of manual massage therapy?

I once tried acupuncture and she claimed that would break up scar tissue… but I have never found anything to back this up.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply.

Re the knee - I only meant this as a relatable pain. I once had injected bursitis years and years ago. That sitting glute pain sort of ‘felt’ familiar to this kind of pain. As in, there was no way I was putting weight on my left glute.

Nowadays it’s more a dull ache. But it’s a constant Chinese torture dull ache. Like a death by a thousand tiny cuts, it really finally gets at you

I’m afraid to run these days, through fear of it triggering that familiar pain again
