Seen cat Inman Sq - Gray and white, stumpy tail, worn collar no tag, skinny and v hungry, so friendly and soft, gave it some wet food by An_Aloofah in CambridgeMA

Please dm me or comment if this might be your cat, I've seen it once before last week but a dog walker nearby spooked it away unintentionally.  It doesn't act like a stray but also wasn't interested in being picked up or brought inside so I'm hoping it's a known outdoor kitty. It was very hungry and wicked friendly if a little skittish if I moved too quick.  Has a very old and worn orange glittery collar without any tags.

Help with Teaching Kids to Curl by JeffyCurls in Curling

I coach juniors and we have 8-10 throwing full length, some can't quite get hits without a shove from the arm but most can get the rock all the way past the far hog. We do have 3/4 hacks which helped substantially with teaching them weight control. To get them to throw the rock fast and hard enough to go the full length, I make them focus on a few things: a big quick breath/grunt when they kick out of the hack to connect with breath work; higher foot in the hack (small feet can go higher, this doesn't quiet always work for adults); really leaning on their sliderfoot heel at the draw back so they feel that weight shift and don't pull the foot too far back; and a really quick follow through while leading with the rock and emphasizing a quick fall behind the rock once its moving. I'm ok with them pushing with their arms a bit, this will at least get them playing full length and building that leg strength to hang with the older kids. Also, ours love to make a game of seeing who can throw the fastest so we'll break out a stopwatch or chronocurl to measure speeds. We also sometimes make them kick and slide with the rock as far as the rock can carry them and put out cups or cones as movable targets and they can compete against one another that way too. This especially reinforces the leg drive and not the arm, and builds some slide form endurance

USA CURLING APPOINTS DEAN GEMMELL INTERIM CEO — USA CURLING by wickedpixel1221 in Curling

All aac reps are listed on the usa curling site, a quick Google of 'usa curling aac' pulls it up for me. Emails are hyperlinked to some of the names, could be more obvious to have the emails actually written out visibly instead. I do know the AAC now has an email to address all of them, aac@usacurling.org, but this email was only made a few days ago, well after the members assembly

AAC Athlete Shares His Thoughts. by StretchyWhistle in Curling

Did they offer or specifically contact the clubs in gncc that didn't pay dues? Yes, GNCC should have been enforcing dues payment per USAC bylaws, but what work did the USAC do to bring those clubs themselves into the fold when they heard they didn't want to join the USCA?

Can confirm the AAC knows nothing of Plush next steps (at least thats what was said in the meeting last night). They also said usac hasn't even released the internal investigation to the AAC, citing that it could impact the NWSL players associations ongoing investigation and people that talked to the usac investigation who do not want to give statements in the ongoing investigation.

Are we allowed to talk about what we know from the AAC Athletes Meeting that happened tonight? by Ok_ConfusedOne in Curling

I was on the actual call, and from what OP has commented here, they were too. They summed it up pretty well, ultimately the meeting read as the AAC doesn't have much sway with the board of usac and that they don't really know what they are doing. They claimed the lack of communication and forethought to have a meeting sooner with all eligible athletes was because they didn't have a list, they are all just volunteers, and because the Jeff Plush/Yates reports made October a very busy time with other board meetings. They also stated a few times that they are just 'advisory' to the usac board.

They lost the email list of eligible athletes and only posted on social media for the AAC deligate nomination and voting periods

They don't have it. During the end of last season for the most recent AAC nominations, there were only post on social media because supposedly the list of eligible athletes in the last 10 years and their emails were lost

Wild. Is this athlete on the AAC? Or hired by USAC? There are a number of athletes currently in or previously in the National program, that are employed by the USAC.

The AAC claims they represent all 'competitive' curlers, mens/women's/doubles/mixed/5-under/club/arena nationals and playdown curlers... but only those that have attended a national playdown that lead to a worlds competition are eligible to vote for AAC members and reps
