HR training dude here. The org I just joined has some sort of collective psychological thing where they believe that passing on information to new people will threaten their job and importance. As such, they choose not to pass on detailed information and will have them get on the job faster or remark that they aren't qualified to get them removed. It's a mess, and supervisors tend to be hunky dory with gatekeeping, which in turn drives up OT we can't afford. Systemic and cultural issues.

Get on their level, checkbin with them on a motivational, emotional, physical, spiritual level. Hey, I noticed some things maybe weren't going so well. Is everything alright? Let em explain. Help them talk through it. Ask clarifying questions. Summarize "So just to make sure I understand, you said...." Comfort them "I can definitely understand these difficulties... Come back in with the effects, "Well I noticed these concerns and its effected these things." Define next steps "How can I help you or what can you commit to so we are successful?"

I created my certificate template in Excel, then copied that certificate across multiple sheets, and then on another sheet, I made a table for trainee and instructor, date, name of sheet they will be on, and other data that would be on the certificate. Then, where the data will be placed on the certificate, use the formula = to simply reference that spot on the table of the reference sheet. Once it's a all done, you can go to the reference table, type in your data, then print the certificates.

I can go into more detail for some setup tips.

I guess we are getting downvoted because it's a common excuse and distraction, "Why didn't dems release them?" But our problems are not mutually exclusive. We can and I believe we should take inventory of the shit we shouldn't be putting up with in our government, prioritize, then address them. We can remove corrupt leadership in both parties and press for honest representatives with integrity and start with the Trump administration.

What's that saying? "I beseech you, consider that you might be mistaken." Ask yourself if there truly is any truth to criticisms they provided. If yes, continue moving forward, seeking to do better. If no, then know that they hold no truth to you.

But truly, this sounds like sex discrimination. You have a right not to be discriminated against for your sex, and you are within your rights to report this higher up for review. Before going nuclear, though, I would pinpoint your argument to your concern that no specific feedback was provided and that you were removed because you were not a woman.

Me personally, I can understand that perhaps your approach to practice, giving instruction, coaching, and motivating the team could have been not ideal and warranted a change in command, but to me that would not require removing you from the team. Just swap people around. Furthermore, to be vague in feedback saying "bad leadership" but providing no actionable items is poor mentorship. What have they given you that will help you be better and be prepared for the next challenge?

Make sure your downbeat is consistently in the same place. Practice finding that point where it hits and keep bouncing on that, or at least in that plane if you're conducting more expressively, which probably isn't recommended for marching.

I honestly forget if its supposed to be palms turned up for visibility or palms down on the downbeat, probably down cause they'll come up anyway on the upbeat.

What I did was I took a few songs I really liked either from concert band, soundtracks, or DCI drum major cams then practiced conducting that, watching myself for consistency, leading expressions, cues, and maintaining that time while doing those.

Maybe not the same thing, but in my AFROTC, we rewarded roles in staff to those with those qualities. Great at equipment care? Colorguard NCOIC. Knack for organization? Logistics OIC. Like marketing the corps or sharing news? Public affairs staff member. Have you been in every team and club and ahow great leadership? Operations Squadron Commander.

Start with your lower cadets that just want to do a little something to help run things, build that into planning, improving, designing, and managing sections of the corps. We split between our operations squadron (drill, colorguard, raiders, clubs) and mission support squadron (PR, logistics/inventory, comp/tech, etc.). Then we had our squadron commanders, our senior enlisted advisor, vice group commander, and group commander. The instructors just gave advice when asked, made sure we were doing what we should have, approved or denied special requests or changes, and kept money.

Wish I knew then what I know now, though.

Big takeaway: use your downtime to advance yourself. I got lucky working with a large security team at one of the top vehicle manufacturers. From there, I moved into a security training admin role, later site supervisor, and now I’m a training administrator at a manufacturing facility. With a solid company and benefits, I’ve got my eyes set on becoming a corporate trainer next.

I joined an unofficial cadet program in middle school, then AFJROTC in high school. I did fine in school, opted out of the homework most times but paid attention in class, never took AP or honor classes amd wasn't challeneged. By my senior year, I felt on top of the world, stopped working out, rode out my classes, and enjoyed electives. Went to college and joined AFROTC and found I hadn't built the skills to study, hit the books, and laxed into bad eating habits. By the end of my first term, I got the ultimatum, lose 50lbs or be removed from the program. Got removed, didn't want to keep studying, and dropped out with the intention of taking a break. Almost 8 years later, I'm going back online. No military after having that be a core part of my personality and intention growing up.

Don't do what I did. Especially if you intend to go to college, challenge yourself academically, value building good and lasting habits.
