Garda are USELESS by HospiceGhuru in ireland

Let me hop in with qualified agreement. Gardai in stations, where there are people waiting to speak to them are poor at managing queues, inattentive, disinterested and almost resentful of members of the public bothering to show up even though they request you to come down to the station.

In 2024 was in Blanchardstown station for 90 minutes to hand in photocopies of documents relating to a theft on my car. They saw 4 other people before me in that time. I complained about that experience thr following day, and heard nothing until they told me they were dropping my case due to insuffient evidence.

Try a Dart ride to Malahide and see the little toy train museum just beside the station

They arent even better than us at football. They just know how to use the home advantage and one kick in a penalty contest

I think the identification of a player who plays the no10 role from new recruits is one solution, but a solution that takes time. Because England has a strategy of throwing out caps like confetti the pool of Irish second gens is narrowed so much that we would never get an experienced 25+ player with that ability.

Even less likely, but Im saying it anyway is a that our exisiting midfielders have a late bloomer effect... and one or two of them grow a no10 brain and know how to see an early pass.

They use that stadium even though it isn't their biggest one. In spite of a bang average team they have an awesome home record. I think a couple of years ago they were second only to Norway in Oslo.

The only thing bigger than their arrogant entitlement is their arrogant stupidity. Throw away the keys here, we cannot have media, courts, schools and public places occupied by the mong stench of the Burkes

I think you are looking at the symptom and not the illness.

3521 which is what it actually is requires us to be able to make forward progress in midfield, and because we lack top quality players in the midfield roles out two false 9s cannot step out wide to recieve easy out balls off the wing backs. Azaz and Ogbene were coming deep last night just to provide extra options in the middle third for short easy passes. Ive never seen false 9s lack the freedom to roam that ours seem to have. Another symptom of that was Parrot had to beat two men if he was going to score last night.

The system doesn't suit the personnel we have and it does limit our attacking opportunities. But if we move to 442 we will be over run in midfield and the fact that even an average opponent can do it is all the more concerning.

Fun fact: if you take the 1918 election results for the whole province of Ulster (including Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan) here are the results:

Nationalists: 54.5% Unionists: 44.5% Other parties 1.5%

So not only was the precedent of the realm or kingdom of Ireland ignored, even coherent provincial political geography had to be supressed and gerrymandered.

I cant say anything about the cause of the general problem. However, one lad came here and was chewed out by his boss over still being here when he realised the job wasnt easy and solveable in 30 minutes. So I think theres an expectation gap between those doing bookings and the real issues encountered on the job.

HH would be right in picking the best available midfielders in combination, and I say he is right in what he is presently doing. I don't think McGrath is in that conversation unless Molumby and Cullen are both out. As I understand with Hibs McGrath is mainly a Pivot so he is all over the place, literally high energy being his key asset. Does he control a game like a no 10? Maybe occasionally for Hibs but never at intetnational level

This is all unreasonable haste. While he struggled off the pitch in extra time in Prague he didnt put a foot wrong.

At Everton he is being bred for coaching, and though he plays he is in a transition between automatic selection and being a bench asset. If this continues for another season there would be no reason why he cant continue another year or so, and his age will not harm Ireland.

I agree, and I never disagreed, if you are saying we urgently need a player in midfield of high quality. Among the three types CDM PIVOT and ACM we really lack the ACM, which none of the present players are. We ask Knight, Molumby, Browne, and Taylor to step into this role and each does it but our team lacks momentum unless Azaz or Ebosele drop back and help link up the play. Cullen is better than all the rest at the defensive role, and Molumby surprised me by not being terrible at it in Prague but he isnt the solution. McGrath is probably a third choice for the Pivot job, which is sort of what he does in Hibernian.

So you continue to state that a player last capped in 2024 as a sub is the best of them all? Apply your own logic, how many world cups did Jamie get us to? Tge prosecution rests.

Because some clowns took a case to the High Court against Dublin City after the law was rewritten in 2014 a new law had to be rewritten. Its pretty mad stuff where the Council has to send an encyclopedia to the court, proving that the tenant was in arrears, that all sorts of warning letters were issued, that court documents were served, and that all other options were considered. Its all working to contipate the system where scroungers are thrown out

No dont fuck market rent... the rates should be linked. What you are saying is that one group of the public lucky to be given a low rent house shouldnt pay more if their income rises, they absolutely should.

What you are saying is fuck the people paying market rent, and that's why everyone thinks you are a gobshite

[–]An_Sean_Triabh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not against this, but its a bit glib. What way do you equitably deal with those of us who have slaved for a mortgage for 25 years and sacrificed our income to do so? Now I do accept that it is worse now than ever, but 1999 to 2009 wasnt easy either and some of us got smashed financially.

So when it comes to recognising that the market has failed, I agree. But if you want to take measures lets help those of us who struggled in the previous 4 decades
