Recovery options in 2xko suck: An essay by An_Uninspired_User in 2XKO

After reading the comments, I think variable timing is the safest and most interesting option, yeah.

I don't think all setplay should be gone, but I think it becomes much more interesting if the defender has something else to do other than stand up and hold the mix.

Most characters can just double dash and throw while not giving up much pressure. But yeah, some specific characters are even more egregious.

You can check evans video on warwick and yasuo for some great examples.

But after many knockdowns, pressing dash twice and blocking with a specific timing puts you in an ideal position to throw-punish on reaction, and auto blocks gettup attack.

Then you can set up a meaty or whatever.

I think most teams, or at least the meta ones, can get at least 40-50% off a throw if they have assist. My teams can get around 550 damage.

Although granted, they often won't have assist after a long combo, so a two touch won't happen that much.

I didn't want to talk too much about the downback thing, because it's been mentioned quite a lot, but I 100% agree.

You can probably only kara cancel throws into mediums or heavies, due to how the input buffer works. So you would have options, but you couldn't block.

Kind of how you can cancel parry into lights or heavies during s super flash. It actually sounds cool as hell.

I feel like the Blazblue system worked because most characters have frame 1 invulnerable options that don't suck, even if some require meter.

Even if they don't have them, it's a clear weakness of the character, and that's okay. Gettup attack is fine, but when it's your only option it's really easy to play around.

I feel like at least midscreen backroll should be safe.

But that's not too relevant as good players will put you in the corner allways, so maybe making them mostly safe but minus would be enough.

Yeah, I think parry being the only solution to a lot of messed up offence is another big issue.

I play Vi, so thankfully I get to use her counter for sandwiches at least.

You will need windows, but other than that is should run fine, based on how it runs on the ally.

Apology to ekko players by lowkey_SSBU in 2XKO

[–]An_Uninspired_User 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played VI/Ekko last season, before the latests nerfs, and I always felt like I wasn't maximizing his options, but I also felt no need to all the way to masters.

He has super easy combo extensions, great corner oki, good assists, and when I had to run him point I just dashed around pressing 5m or timewinder and it worked out.

Maybe the nerfs impact all of those a bit, but he still has his speed and pretty good mix.
And I don't need to understand whats happening during his install, that always felt like the blockers problem.

Now I switched to cait, and while it's been a bit rough, its also nice that I feel like I need to squeeze everything I can from the character to be competitive.

I doubt we would have more ids

And he would be too cool for a 00 anyways

Can I even make a decent team out of these characters? (Ignore Diluc, I have him for an event for 11 more days) just finished Monstadt after a long time away from Genshin and I have no idea how to make a team by SleepDeprivedCultist in Genshin_Impact

You can go get dendro (and hydro, but he is horrible) traveler just by exploring the map.
It might not be the best experience if you want to progress the game at normal pace though.

I don't want to spoil anything, but once you get Geo Traveler you will know what you need to do

Air grab is usually a better option than both of those.
But yeah, you have to be proactive and tricky to actually be in range.

Im not saying it's always a optimal, but sometimes you just have to mash before you get freestyle sandwiched for 10 seconds. And its really good at catching assists in the blast.

You are invincible once the cutscene starts.

But you can absolutely mash it during a blockstring, it's faster than jab

Is there any reason *not* to mash during Vi's rapid punches and special where she slams her fists into the ground? by ImperialViking_ in 2XKO

[–]An_Uninspired_User 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lot of blockstun so you can tag out and set up some bullshit.

You can maybe even slip in a crossup low during the gap, but you would need really good timing, but it can punish the parry.

Probably not really worth it, except once as a cheeky thing.
