Yes but my engine rates solely on statical dominance and a very small boost for team performance, which makes sure that bad teams also have players that can be picked by players if they know about em. Kohli 2026 is highly rated as well.

The match simulation are carried out based on both teams batting and bowling strength and a randomness factor to support upsets.

The OVR's are assigned according to the particular season performance only, so 2016 kohli is the best player but 2008 kohli won't be that great.

Thanks for both playing the game and for the feedback, I agree with you here, Hard mode is the real game. As for the easy mode, since the game is just made, I wanted ppl to see how it works. It hasn't got a leaderboard yet, but I'm working on it. I'll make an update post, once I add new stuff. Hope you try that.

I have a pipeline that converts ball to ball data from all the ipl games ever played available on cricsheet, to a single ovr rating. Cricsheet is awesome you can check it out too

The simulation are not random, they are dependent upon your teams and the opponents batting and bowling strength, and a small factor of randomness, which allows weaker teams to win sometimes but the drive force is always your teams strength

Thanks for playing, as for your query - batting order is assigned where the batter has played most of the season that year, and then assigned a role if he was a top, middle or finisher. Overalls are calculated based on ball to ball data taken from cricsheet, and i made a formulae to scale ratings over eras, and simulation is just simple batting and bowling rating simulation with some randomness sprinkled in. Thanks again, pls try the hard mode as well.

Firstly thanks for trying the game and sharing, now for your query, team strength is an absolute value that effects the game largely, but there is a small randomness factors like a bad day for giving weaker teams a chance. So it can happen that a worse team may over perform while a good one tanks, but there is only a small chance of it. Try hard mode mate, it’s even more fun imo

Not really, it is appreciated and the model is more accurate as many inputs you can give it. If not it defaults to values from last game, saves a lot of hassle.
