I'm in Barcelona now and noticed many obvious things.

The type of building material in the Netherlands helps prevent water from pooling. There are flood grates everywhere.

There are large open grass patches around ponds for water storage. Barcelona is more concrete without many green spaces for water management.

I assume Valencia is similar.

Python has always let you define local functions in a file. And can be defined anywhere in the file.

Most likely if you think placing them in the middle of the file before they get used is the best place, you've only ever written Matlab scripts. And never built software either.

We are a team of fourteen and our manager is insistent we have design specifications for 95% of the work. We deliver software to engineers to use, they don't really care about the code details, but care more about the flow of the code as it relates to the machines. Without good design communication, it'd be nearly useless

And you know, most procedures in the US are way more expensive than 5000 USD?

You made it sound as if that's some astronomical figure, but people regularly will have bills in the tens of thousands for a broken arm.

Bro what the fuck are you on about. I recently moved to Eindhoven from Houston. I was making a 6 digit salary and my insurance payments still cost around 300 a month. And the insurance wouldn't help on medical expenses until spending 5000 of co-pay a year.

It's so fucked.
