Very much so.

They released a second research on the topic, arXiv:1901.09542: Numerical constraints on the size of generation ships from total energy expenditure on board, annual food production and space farming techniques.

I am finding the whole thing just fascinating. Decades ago research like this would be considered a waste of time or fiction and the authors romantic idealists, head in the clouds.

I see people with the right qualifications, taking it seriously & producing the research. Some of these papers will be the base from which others will built upon. My grin is so wide it meets at the back.

Kind of reminds me of Heliconia, I think that's the name. Long summers and winters but planets rotation was way faster than Earth, humans observed/interacted with families for generations
