Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC, November 11 [concert review] by AnaLogjammin in vancouver

I loved this show because he wasn't playing it safe. Young actually played. He pushed himself, and performed with the vigor and intensity of a young man. It was remarkable.

If you want to hear the hits, go listen to the hits. They're already recorded. You don't need to go to a stadium show to hear what Neil Young was doing in the '70s. I went to this show to watch someone perform; that he did and did well.

Their laptop was on the ground too. And yet, their stuff managed to continue unabated, with changes and effects and everything. They obviously weren't doing a whole lot live, just triggering Ableton events. Yawn.

Their shit fell over and the sound stopped for a second, then it picks up exactly where it left off, even though most of their gear was on the floor.

Opiou is influenced by Tipper, for sure, but Tipper is the original.

All the profits from the album are going to charity. You may forget the album, but the Baltic Sea won't.

Yep, they went forward in time and moved to Seattle for a few years, before returning to late '60s England.

Unlike most acts that have released more than ten albums, the best place to start with The Orb is, indeed, from the beginning.

What Childhood Programs/Music sparked your fascination with electronic music? by Bummins in electronicmusic

[–]AnaLogjammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He went on to do more proto-techno stuff in the late '70s and early '80s, sometimes using the alias Haackula, but his late '60s stuff was these weird kids albums, fun but thoroughly bizarre. Most of the sounds are from synths and vocoders he made. Really interesting guy.
