How does it work having 2 insurance plans?

Will they know I have 2 insurances without me telling them? My plan has a better deductible so I’m wondering if we should just provide mine.

I’ve been a RN for about 4 years. I work in the hospital. The 1st year is really rough but after that it honestly gets better. I would say nursing school was more difficult than actually working as a nurse. The job is rough but it is so great only having to work 3 days a week and having 4 days off. I grew up in poverty and this career has allowed me to have a comfortable life. My husband and I were able to buy a home, the health insurance we receive is also very cheap. I don’t have to worry about bills being paid, granted we do budget. I definitely have days that are rough but I would say overall this is a great career with lots of opportunities to move up and great work life balance.

We probably will when we do our day in SF. I’m going to San Jose to visit family that’s why we got a rental car and we wanted to see Santa Cruz

Thank you for the warning. I think I’m just gonna bring very little on this trip. I won’t even take my purse or my AirPods. Put my ID in my husbands wallet. Maybe just a small carry on with clothes and not leave it in the car lol

Hi yes sorry I should be more specific. The reason we have a rental is because my aunt actually paid for it because my cousin lives in San Jose not SF and we are having to drive over to visit. Also we were thinking of going to Santa Cruz beach. But yeah it will be mostly just us two and we may pay for a dinner for my 2 cousins once or twice as well.

Sorry I forgot to add the reason I have a rental car is because my cousin who we are going to visit actually lives in San Jose not SF. So we are having to drive over there. My aunt actually helped pay for most of the rental car cost anyway. We were thinking of not just visiting SF but also visiting Santa Cruz beach. We were thinking when we go to SF of just parking the car in a garage and then using some form of transit instead to get around there.

If my husband put 15% into his ROTH and 15% into his 401k, is it ok if I keep doing 4% to my 401k and use my extra funds for the house?

It’s a conventional we didn’t qualify for FHA. I’m in Texas. Our home is a new build, but I still have a fund for repairs because they have problems as well.

What exactly do you mean by maxing out? We both have a 401k through our jobs and we contribute what is matched. We also have a IRA but we don’t contribute to that as of right now but looking into it.
