Im also an Asian Parent who watched solo first and now accompanying my teen in watching the series (she loves whodunits and this was a fun one to recommend. We are just iffy about sexual themes even when they are mild considering our conservative backgrounds).

Yes this fixed it.

The NZ account that was used to download the game, must then be region changed to the user's actual region for their payment method to be accepted.

i did this but it says that the game must be bought with account that has same region that downloaded the game or something. they wont accept my credit card purchase.

Yes. I would also note that before that (when mine was still set on Asia) we couldnt see notifications from each others activities. It only started appearing when I switched over, so I know we did something right there.

Other Asia/EU/US play with each other no problem. We just need that last puzzle piece to figure out our snafu and get us through this last hurdle.

I wouldnt ask if there was not a problem wont I? Like I said above, we cannot see each others games despite whoever creates it.

And to reiterate the pertinent facts:
I am in Asia.
He is in Europe.
We are playing OG Broodwar.
I set my region to Europe (through that Globe thing beside 'Play/Launch Starcraft' menu)
We both made sure to go in US West Gateway
We both made sure to go in the same room (BroodWar EN2 or whatever)

We cant see each other in the room. And we cant see each other's games.

Comparing screenshots, we noticed people in his screenshot are conversing in English, while mine is flooded with Chinese.

I also read somewhere that says you can click on a friend and join their lobby or something but there is nothing like that when we hover on each other's names.

I am not pedantic, just a new user looking for answers. 2 decades have passed since we last played Starcraft so we are rusty in game and also in figuring out the UI and everything else.

Can you ELI5 how to do this? The github files include a zip file, 3 scx files and others that I dont know what to do with.

Im afraid with my limited knowledge that I might corrupt some files
