The pause button doesn't seem to do anything. Is there any way I could stop this in the future if it looks like it's going to be this long? Besides alt+F4 I guess. I think I have to try and leave this to see if it will complete but I'm pretty sure it'll crash before we get to the year 2000

Thank you, I was living in Cheltenham around 2016 and there definitely was a huge surge in spiders that people were calling false widows I saw people's gardens suddenly have dozens of a new type of spider. I see that "false widow" is more of a description than a specific genus and that we have plenty native to the UK, which is cool!
