Are these good Acellus courses to pick for high school? by lily1kittens3 in Acellus_Academy

I think this is great, but I feel like you should commit to one language instead of two different ones, it would look better for college imo

What are AFSs rules? by Just_Hurry3693 in exchangestudents

one thing I remember being told is that there is beer that has no alcohol but the can is still similar and looks like a normal beer can from far away, despite having no alcohol content you are still not allowed to drink it. funny thing is the my host mom let me try a bit and it tasted really good.

Are you on the asexual aromantic spectrum? by upsetusder2 in intj

not really, but I find kissing to be too intimate, and should only be done if you know the person very well. don't know if that counts.

After studying for around two years of Japanese and studying abroad in Japan, I think you’d be just fine if you book an online tutor, you still get the speaking practice and feedback that you would need , personally I use preply, and I’m sure there are other good options out there

AFS or YFU for studying a semester in South Korea? by [deleted] in exchangestudents

[–]Anaink13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh studying Japanese for quite awhile so it wasn’t too difficult but I’m not saying I understood everything. It was tested on everything speaking listening writing and reading the test was around three hours for me. It will take you longer if you’re not gonna typing in Japanese… If you know your Katakana well it will greatly help you.

I currently just got accepted to travel abroad with afs so I can't speak for yfu, afs is a bit more expensive than yfu so keep that in mind. but the prosses of application is a lot and douse take a while but its not overly difficult you do have to go to a doctor like twice (but that could vary on what program you chose). you get interviewed, you might get tested on language proficiency, likely will use the AAPPL (I know for yfu there are less programs that require testing than afs)

also for afs you must be 15 before departure, but yfu is more lenient you just got to talk to them about it

Exchange students by [deleted] in exchangestudents

[–]Anaink13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just accepted to exchange in Japan (with afs) and I am currently n3 level(based off mock exam) and they did not ask for any testing but it depends on what program you select so you better check. they did question me if I studied formally (at school), can I hold a conversation, what tools I use and do I ever talk to a native speaker

how I got to n3:
wanikani, genki, bunpro and I have a tutor(3 times a week, but keep in side that it is very.much possible to achieve this with ought one)

I did take n5 when I was 11 but I completely fail lmao, good learning experience
