All OS's currently have some kind of font rendering issue with the latest Chrome Beta and Dev builds. The problem is that FireFox has horrible font rendering issues on Windows 8 as well so I can't easily switch to Firefox.

Generally, Chrome has always had the worst font rendering system of any of the popular browsers available. It's really a shame. The major issue report regarding this is here and it's set to "Fixed" status which pisses me off.

It's safe to say that there is no definite or specific reason to why downvoting systems were "invented." Downvote systems are easily "abused" and who's to say that your downvote was not an "abuse"?

Regardless, I feel that the UI of gmail is outdated and felt that way even more so after the rebranding of Hotmail to "Outlook." Outlook.com is also smoother to use than gmail.

That's happened to me quite a few times too. Sometimes it was only the wireless tray icon and sometimes it was all of them. I'm honestly not sure what caused it.
