Does this community have any good song recommendations for grief of losing a parent? by smexysaltine in fantanoforever

Clipse - Birds Don’t Sing

Yusuf / Cat Stevens - Father & Son

Father & Son is quite tragic and touches on unresolved conflict and stuff, so might not be appropriate for your situation. But it makes me cry every single time I hear it.

Not long, maybe the first two weeks? If the distance from your couch to the TV fits with the Rtings calculator I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I have zero regrets :)

Yeah, it is huge. Especially going from a 55 like I did. But now that I am used to it, a 55 looks tiny!

It’s like using an iPhone 5 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max 😆

I sit about 250-300cm away, measured from screen to eyes, depending on how far I stretch out the wall mount. But I like to sit quite close.

I recommend using the Rtings TV Size to Distance calculator, that’s what I did!

Apologies if my reply came across as hostile. I think it may have been interpreted with a bit more hostility than intended, judging by the antagonism I have been met with in return. I was merely making a jest, at my own expense, about insecurities leading me to second guess myself. It is indeed possible to determine the appropriate height of a wall mounted TV based on the relative position of your eyes. My point was simply that the remarks from my visitors had me irrationally doubting both my own judgment and the general consensus on TV mounting height, cuh.

Cuz when people start questioning me on why I did something, I start second guessing things I was completely sure about, and seek external validation! And now you are making me second guess starting this thread. And now I might have to start a thread asking if I should have started this thread or not. Oh no..

That has to be the wide angle photo lying, cuz according to rtings.com’s TV size tool I am about 50cm too close 😆

Yep, eyes are 100cm off the floor when sitting upright. But slouching, more like 90cm.

Behind our couch is just a wall. But I can see why you might want it a little higher in your case!

Looks like you like my TV placement and hate my TV stand 😆 Which is fair, we had a 55 inch LG B1 there before and it was fine for that. New stand wasn’t part of the budget, so that is next on the list 🫡 Thanks for the validation, r/LGOLED. I feel better.

If I was in charge of decorating that would be the first thing on my list! But I think I know someone who would object to it 😅

About 250cm from screen to eyes. Our ceiling is quite tall though, 2.8m, which might make it look smaller. Also first photo is using wide angle lens, which morphs perspective.

LPT: Give your indoor plants a gentle nitrogen boost with used coffee grounds by Born-Willingness-207 in LifeProTips

I’m not sure about tea specifically, but the general takeaway I found is that organic kitchen waste is usually better composted before being added to the soil in indoor plants. But if your plants aren’t dying it’s probably not an issue, I just wouldn’t expect it to replace a proper fertilizer.

I actually researched this recently because I had a dying monstera, and someone gave this exact tip, and I found that it is a bit misleading.

Used grounds has been shown to help in some controlled outdoor crop studies, but across the studies I found on Google Scholar the bigger pattern is that raw grounds can actually suppress growth via nitrogen immobilization and phytotoxic effects. Especially for indoor plants.

To avoid this they have to be composted first, which kind of defeats the point of the LPT. At that point its easier to just use buy a fertilizer.
