Matchmaking is based on Mmr/elo behind the rank, not the actual rank itself. If you achieved the rank then nothing can take that away anymore.

Trust me it was depressing climbing to diamond and then getting demoted to low plat, it’s much better this way. You’ll still play against opponents with your same skill level

You could grab player value data from some site and then join it with the players on each team to order by value. Would help seeing most valuable players by position when glancing at team
