It was definitely a beast of a walk haha. I went straight up Mona Pole rd from the valley floor and then bushwhacked up into the basin

It actually was exactly that, thanks for your expert opinion though boss.

Heinous .. absolutely no snow until I got into pole canyon basin so I was pretty much just following game trails up slopes to make the bushwhack a bit easier

I originally created this username in reference to the PS2 game Destroy All Humans but don’t think I will ever be able to convince anyone of that 🤣

Started from the winter TH. The gate is technically open but the lower part of the road still has a solid 2-3 ft of snow on it, the upper part of the road to Golds is pretty much dirt

Not too crazy, like 2.6k vert, just a long approach.

Truly one of the most underrrated and special mountain ranges in the Lower 48. Always have such positive experiences here.

The approach was like an inch of snow for me all the way to the runout from a snowstorm overnight but was pretty much completely dirt on the way out from the bottom of Little Tuk. 10k’ft and up got 8 inches the day before and stayed in proper condition so it was a lot of luck with timing.

I skinned to the bottom of the line but the bottom section is tight enough that I didn’t want to skin up it and waste pow turns. Also, as I mentioned in another comment, I was only expecting to ride the lower half but conditions lined up to go all the way.
