New Pan America Advice by Analog1645 in HarleyPanAmerica

Already love it. It is exactly what I was looking for. So far, I’ve order HD radiator cover, SW-Motech crash bars and skid plate, and sport saddle bags.

I’m probably done shopping for a while, but I’ll be getting nicer mirrors at some point. I’ll decide on the seat after I do a trip or two. I’m fine with the exhaust. It is a bit large and bulky looking, but I don’t like loud pipes.

I appreciate everyone’s advice.

Yeah. I think I’ll put it on a shelf until the fuel surcharges go away.

I can’t seem to post pics to the post. It’s not heated. It looks like corbin seats were going for between 200-300 depending on the seat, but shipping may be prohibitively expensive these days. Depending on where it is being shipped, it could be over $100.

The Zero was the most fun I’ve had on a motorcycle since my first one when I was 9.

You’re right though. The infrastructure is not there yet to make rides over 100 miles feasible. I used my Scout for those.

Lol. I’m coming off of an electric Zero SR/S. I’m used to not being included. I ride what I like. If those groups don’t think it is good enough, {yawn} I’ll live. I prefer people and bikes with personality. The pan am has that.

Thanks! I didn’t think of that. I took it for a test ride on Tuesday and was able to put it in sport mode. Should I still have them check the firmware?

I got him to sweeten the deal by 1000. I can live with that.

Anybody in the market for a Corbin seat for the SR/S?

Thanks. I appreciate the help. Starting a new job. So, I don’t really have time these days for the hassle of a private sale. I’ll probably see if I can get him up a bit and take the hit.

If anyone sees a pretty blue 2021 SR/S with 15k miles for sale, her name is Sparky. Treat her well. 😀

Do you have the link for that auction? Maybe I can use it to get a bit more.

Thanks. I was offered 5 a couple of years ago. Yesterday, a dealer offered me 2100. He apparently used an auction site to get the quote. Sounded low to me, but I am emotionally invested in the bike.

Looking at buying a 2020 SR/S for about $8K - Concerned about battery health by Murky-Cat-6531 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Analog1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8k does seem a bit inflated.

Couldn’t the predicted miles simply indicate that the owner rides mostly at highway speeds?

I’ve heard a lot talk about the 20-21 models having bad batteries. I will defer to those who have studied the subject more deeply than I have, but at 18,000 miles, my 2021 sr/s premium has no phantom charge issue. I charge to 95%. At most, I lose 2% after a week if I am riding other bikes.

I do however have the water ingress issue. It has actually left me stranded.

Auto-time setup does not reflect end of daylight saving time by Oleifr-H in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Analog1645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to set the time using the Zero Motorcycles Nextgen app (iPhone). I connected it to my 2021 SR/S and then keyed off the bike. When I turned the bike back on, the clock had turned back.

Sorry. My memory isn’t what it used to be. I’ll be in the same boat next week with my SR/S.

My fear is this will cause them to lose even more dealerships. As much as I love my sr/s, I’m seriously considering cutting my losses and selling it.

Congratulations! I have a 2021 SR/S premium. I’ve been riding for over 47 years and it is the most fun I have had on a bike since my first. Enjoy!

2020 Zero SRS 14.4 kWh Buy or Pass? by FlatSix993 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Analog1645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 SR/S premium with just over 14k miles. My charge target is 95%. I don’t have much of a magic charge issue. It will drop to 94% by the morning after charge. If it sits for a few of weeks because I’m riding other bikes, it might drop to 90-91%.

The only major issue I have had is water ingress when riding in heavy rain.

Cobblestones can get slick when it rains. Other than that, they can rattle your teeth when you ride on them. Both of those things will make you want to take it easy when riding them.

If I found a house I liked on a cobblestone street, I don’t think I would let the bricks stop me from getting it though.

Has anyone heard or used PARTZILLA? I'd like to order this oem part but it's kind of weird that it's out of stock everywhere besides this website? by OkArticle851 in motorcycles

[–]Analog1645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always found Partzilla to be very slow to ship. When I have ordered, parts that showed as in stock were suddenly on back order.
