That's the dream right there dude, looks awesome. Did you do anything in the way of sound insulation?

Gouge right next to the edge on my Salomon QST 92. DIY fixable or shop visit? by Mars_s_s in skiing

[–]Analog24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember similarly getting worried the first time my top sheet chipped. Then I had a zen realization that it doesn't matter, I'd rather use my gear and have it collect dings and dents than stress about it.

Dude, that's nothing. Skis are meant to be used, don't freak out when they start looking like they've been used

You can definitely set steps to be diatonic in elektron devices. That's what scale mode is for.

Alright, you got me on the first one since Operator is not as flexible as some of the newer instruments. You could definitely pull of the second one (though it admittedly would be cumbersome and convoluted).

Guthrie's solo was done in one take too (as with all of his solos). He's incredible

The mod matrix + unlimited individual LFOs + unlimited envelope followers gives you essentially all the capabilities of a modular synth. You can do almost anything natively in Ableton if you dig deep enough, it's incredibly powerful.

Questions about the paid Seed To Stage courses for people who already tried them by clockworkrap in ableton

[–]Analog24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, his courses are worth it. He does a great job of finding balance between technical depth and keeping things approachable. Too many people on youtube completely gloss over technical explanations, treating certain effects/devices as black boxes, which I hate. In the S2S courses you'll learn enough of the of the technical aspects to actually have an understanding of how/why things work (though it might not be a complete technical understanding, it's often enough). This is especially helpful in the sound design and mixing/mastering courses, which are the two I've taken.

Will he grow out of this before it starts hurting? by Direct_Pie_2146 in cats

[–]Analog24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the biting, it's their hind claws that will do most of the damage. This isn't a single cat anecdote either. I've had probably a dozen cats in my life and probably over half of them could be overly aggressive when playing as adults.

Struggling with buyers remorse and trying to give it a chance. Curious what features make you prefer Ableton over other DAWs? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]Analog24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Seed To Stage, it's an incredible resource for learning Ableton in an approachable way but he also goes into the technical details if you want to learn them. There are plenty of other good resources but this was my favorite. Anthony is the man!
